How so? It takes 2 turns for a Brimstone eater to essentially 'pay' for itself, leaving room for CC. Also, there are other cars like this in the game as well. What about FFQ?
Though maybe I should raise the cost to be equal to the unupped.

Create an immo target every turn that does 2 damage and creates quanta? Only downside is it takes up a shield slot, which fire doesnt use anyway.

FFQ doesn't generate inelement quanta, however. Make the upped generate ash eaters as well, and I support it.

Shield generating creatures? Not a concern. We should eventually have a permanents that can generate creatures and vice versa.

Upgraded acceleration quanta production? More of a concern. It being a shield prevents feedback but it is a significant improvement from the unupped. Probably sufficient for the entire upgrade bonus (aka no casting cost decrease).

Fire receiving in element DR. A concern. The DR is the only thing that makes this card Shield like. However Fire being the element of destruction was the only element not to receive some ability to reduce incoming damage. Some may consider this to be the result of a thematic choice to prevent fire from having non destructive defenses.

Everything else about the card is good-great design. (as expected)

I agree about the DR not belonging to Fire.

Random idea that is not meant to be thought through, but just as some kind of brainstorming:

Shield: Increase (sic) each scource of received damage by 1 (2?). Spawn an Ash Eater everytime you receive damage. (/when something else happens?)

Never thought about DR theme.
I like the idea about increasing the damage received in exchange for a buff. However I'm not sure ash eater is the right kind of compensation.

But I haven't seen any cards yet that are like double incoming damage, all healing affects you twice as much. Although that might be extremely unfair with sosac...
