IDEA:
odideph (inspired by this: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,37282.0.html)
NOTES:
Example:
1) I cast Chain of Fire. All (targetable) enemy creatures take 1 damage.
2) The turn after, i cast Chain of Fire. Enemy creatures take 1 damage again.
3) This time i play 2 other Chains of Fire in the same turn as the previous one. Enemy creatures will thus take 2 additional damage + 4 additional damage (total this turn: 7 damage).
4) Next turn, i play Chain of Fire again (yeah my hand was full of these): it deals 1 damage to all enemy creatures.

For reference, maximum damage (all 6 Chains in the same turn) is : 1 +2 +4 +8 +16 +32 = 63 damage.

So i've read about the Chain mechanism, and i'm starting a series of cards based on it.

(Opinions on the artwork are welcome too)

As is, it's weak compared to Rain of Fire.  Maybe make it cost 3|2 :fire?

Well the idea is to stack as many as possible in your hand until you really need them (or until you can win by playing them -- talking about the upcoming series in general here). So using up to 3 of them shouldn't be cost-efficient, more like a desperate move. From 4 on, they become devastating because of the Chain mechanism.

If you play all 6 at once (costs nearly full fire quanta unupped), you deal 63 damage to every enemy creature, pretty much turning everything to fine dust, including Gravity-pulled defenders, Phoenixes, weak Chimeras, Shard Golems (if they're not immortal)...

As awesome as that could be, who needs to deal 63 damage to a creature?  Almost creatures would die after 3.  But that doesn't change the fact that Rain of Fire is more effective.

The thing this is interesting as it can prove to be a cheaper form of Rain of Fire or a more destructive form without treading heavily on Rain of Fire.

But be careful not to tread on other card ideas when balancing.

Well there will probably be no case where you want to deal that much damage to enemy creatures. I think it would be used as an emergency 7-damage dealing combo if anything, but i reckon that's not a very useful card until someone maybe finds some epic combo with it.

I'm just starting this series and decided to start with Fire because it sounded the easiest. I'm gonna do the 12 other Chains by tomorrow evening probably.

No worries for card idea copying, i try to read as many as i can so that i don't do that by accident.

I had a similar idea except it was single target and started with 3 damage. In the end it was eventually abbandoned for tons of reasons. As you card is right now, the price is so ungodly high that noone would ever even buy the card.

Oh. Care to list some of these reasons if you can remember them? I could maybe do pre-emptive fixes with such data.
As for the price, i think everyone agrees on that part so far. What about a cost of 5|4, since i can only think of so many uses for that card?

for reference, though it's not everything

Pretty similar yeah. I didn't know people had actually proposed chain cards before (or was it just you?). Let's hope this series gets more lucky.
