 Yes, but with flying weapon is interesting in a deck upgraded, with lava golems or steel golems? with steel is reasonable with lava is slow.

Can it target opponent's weapon/shield slots too? In that case, can it remove immaterial weapons & shields? If yes, it may be OP, though I am not sure. But interesting idea for sure.

I really like it. The attack/cost seems balanced compared with other earth creatures and taking into account the ability it has. It creates a different synergy between  and  (using  as a support element, instead of the opposite) and adds to earth's theme of protecting permanents/pillars.

This is actually a very strong card.  The upped, once it makes a longsword, will be essentially doing 11 damage for 7 quanta.  I think I'd feel more comfortable nerfing it slightly, maybe upping the activation cost to 3 or so and/or dropping the stats by -1/-1. (you're not going to be spamming it anyway, unless you're against pulverizer or something)

5 damage first turn, second turn 11 damage, 16 damage in 2 turns, placing others barons have are only 5 damage each.
if every baron cause 11 damage I agree, moreover 2 steel golems cause 12 damage with only 8 quanta and are faster to put into play.

I really really like this card, but I agree that it might be too strong. 5/6 for 6 is decent itself, so if you just go for ~4 Baron Blacksmith + 6 AW...

What about "Play any weapon from your hand without paying its quanta cost"? Or, as that might be too strong too, maybe specify a few weapons that thematically make sense (can be forged, that is). Just random brainstorm ideas.

/e: Alternatively, keep it that way, add: "Lose control of (sacrifice) Blacksmith when you play FW". Would balance the card and could also make sense thematically (He refuses to keep working for you if you chose filthy magic over honest physical labour. Or something. :p)

I don't see why unlimited uses is an issue.  Outside of pseudo permanent protection and Animate Weapon, there isn't any point of using it so many times, so a restrictions seems pointless.
