The unupped Shard of Focus lets you pay your next spell using quanta matching your mark, instead of the quanta type needed for that card.
The upped Shard of Focus lets you pay your next spell using life points instead of quanta, but you the life loss is double the amount of quanta needed.
Both cards make you draw a card if your mark is
.
If a card interacts with your quanta in some way, that is unaffected.
Examples:
- Miracle will still drain all your
- Fractal will still drain all your
- Stone Skin will still add maximum hp depending on your
- Fire Bolt will still deal damage every 10
Maybe they should cost some random quanta, i'm not sure. You pay a card cost (the shard itself), but for
this is free, so maybe adding a quanta cost should be ok.
But you're still paying the card with quanta (or life x2), so it's not really OP (i think).
I think both versions of the Shard are pretty useful, they should advantage duo or trio decks (the unupped is useless in a mono deck!)
EDIT: modified wording for cleaner mechanic explanation.
