Both my AI opponent and I had a Vampire Stiletto weapon played on the board and mine became frozen due to I believe Pandemonium.  I decided to steal the opponent's Vampire Stiletto since his was not frozen but it became frozen when it came to my side.

I'm assuming it was from a Frozen Voodoo Doll on your opponent's side.  I could be wrong.

Yes, the slot itself becomes frozen not just the weapon.  Therefore any weapon that comes into play on your side will become frozen in that slot until the Freeze expires.

If the slot is being frozen, then it should not require a weapon in that slot for it to freeze. Yet voodoo doll + freeze does nothing if your opponent does not have a weapon. So, your explanation does not really make sense.

That being said, this is a known interaction, already reported here. In the future, please note that you need to search all three bug boards (reporting, archive, and confirmed) or the entire forum to see if your bug has already been reported.

Well I was beginning to question why my response which was in essence nearly identical to the explanation offered in the link provided was illogical now as opposed to being adequate nearly a year ago, however it dawned on me that the interaction between freeze and the weapon slot was changed within that period of time.  When digging around the patch notes topics I noticed a bit in the 1.30 topic (posted in December 2011) which stated that Ice Bolt no longer had the ability to freeze empty weapon slots and I would assume that this also holds true for Voodoo Doll as well.

So...I really don't have a logical explanation for why this interaction should occur anymore.  Stealing, Destroying or Animating a weapon that is frozen causes the slot to also become unfrozen so it would seem that freezing should no longer be about the weapon slot but rather the individual weapon and this is not upheld by Steal or the player replacing a frozen weapon given that it's no longer the same weapon being affected by freeze.
