I just thought of an idea to help this out. Give a passive skill called Nine Lives.
Nine Lives: the idea is that it can survive death 9 times. we could give this to any future cats that make it into game.

That is way to powerful, just imagine the kitty with wings(butterfly) surviving 9 attacks, I can already see the horror.
BTW if it can survive any attacks.... 9 lives.... 6 bottles of rage.....win?

Besides its not even in the theme of the card, 50% to not die seems more fair.

9 Live's is okay. How about each turn counts as a life the cat has lived and it lose's a life counter. It can also be targeted by all CC. And any stat boosts it recieve would go away when your turn is over because the life of that cat has ended.  This card should be  6 :entropy and have stats of 6 | 1. Go make the card now! lol

6/1 wouldn't make any sense for the concept.

This is one of the nicest and smart (ok and nerd) concept.

But if the cat gets the +5|-5, HP goes below 0. How do you think to manage this? The effect take place buffing (and killing) the cat, or the effect doesn't take place (no buff, no kill). What's the alternative?

Depends on how the mechanic is worked, if it can basically ignore damage dealt it would simply be buffed if it survives.
Alternatively it might just ignore the action in which case it doesn't get buffed if it survives.

I like the idea of reducing the skill cost to one, but no cost would be bad. I think that you would need to increase the cards cost if you increase the attack and it doesn't need an HP buff since dieing is semi a good thing for Schrödinger´s Cat.

I think the only buff it needs is changing the ability cost to 1 :entropy
to compare with the most similar card, Rustler:
while Rustler can generate quanta by its own, the cat needs to be paired with another card
while the cat can also generate other effects (skeleton, bone wall, etc), Rustler can use its ability multiple times per turn
If this card stays as is then Rustler needs a nerf and I don't think Rustler needs a nerf, just to show how UP this card is in my opinion.
