Its slowness has nothing to do with the meta.  The card was intentionally gimped when not necessicary.

The card originally cost 6 and was in no way OP in PvP, but because ffq was part of a great FG deck at the time it was nerfed because the deck had a higher win rate than Zanz liked.
Was the winrate as good as Instosis?
I'm not completely sure, but i think the original god killer had about a 90% win rate. So in short, aside from speed, yes.

But aren't most of the gods of the time on Instosis's Easy-Medium list?

With around 67% winrate, which is still not as high.
FG is not the reason to nerf a card, though, so a buff back would be nice. But according to creature cost mechanics, FFQ is just balanced.

So, a buff or not?

That is a bit out of date (it was first generation).
1) The Elemental bonuses have been fully discredited since the Gnome / Dragonfly buff. Now the cost of drawing a card (+1 cost unit) is included in the left side.
2) Firefly is a Duo card, using a Third element to generate a Duo card is usually a Trio ability (-2).

Firefly Queen    6 :air + 1 card = 3 attack +4 (Spawns Firefly) +2 (HP > 5) -2 (trio ability)

However this is from the 2nd generation when a 3rd generation theory is overdue.

I'm pretty sure it was SG's 'ultimate' deck, or some variant thereof: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,132.0.html
FFQ was basically a cheap way of extra damage and mutation/otyugh fodder. Of course, what made it really powerful and effective was 2-turn sundials, and the whole idea fell apart after they got nerfed.

IMO, this is the quintessential example of an 'elements' card, it really is one of the most diverse, powerful and symbolic of most things with elements.

If I was to sticky one topic as my last act as GS&F Moderator, and the last act of any GS&F Moderator ever (lol@Feedback Manager) it would be this one.

- 1 cost to FFQ!!!

For clarification:
Firefly queen cost reduced to 6

UI:
New lycanthrope, pufferfish, colossal dragon, sapphire charger and firefly queen art (by vrt and pepokish)
Does this mean the thread will be locked now that the buff has taken place? (A new one can be started for Post-1.31 FFQ if it still needs to be buffed.)

This card was not competitive when it costed 6 :air and it still had been nerfed. It is was a huge mistake, as it made the Queen almost unplayable.

Honestly I feel like even with the upcoming buff this topic may arise again. FFQ deserves to be good, and I think most people feel the same way.

Quite pleased that Zanz is listening though.
