I could agree the unupped needs a buff, I never burrow it either way (might as well die if 1 attack is the alternative...) so might as well make it say 3|3

Antlion doesn't need a buff in my opinion. I think the only reason it nseems so weak is because the rest of Earth's cards are so powerful compared to other Elements.

Upped one definitly does not need a buff. 4|4 with burrow, for 2 is very good.
Unupped one.. it's less powerful than other earth creatures, and is pretty much totally eclipsed by graboid. Now, are creatures too powerful in general? hm.
I agree with 3|3 crowd. Or even make it 3|2 if that is too much.

The problem i see, is that you would need to buff BOTH of them. If antlion turns into a 3/3 (also really not that good) then the upgrade only gives a +1/+1, which would make it a really poor upgrade.

What's so bad about +1/+1?
There are few creatures who get that much better when upgraded, without an increase in their cost. There's nothing poor about that...
Especially since burrowing it would then be more profitable, and because 3 is the amount of damage of a lot of CC.

The only decent strategy I can think of for it is adrenaline/empathy. Its not a mid-range attacker by any means, that would require 3 attack power. Its the kind of card you would imagine trying to give an ability, but there are no decent passive abilities worth giving that are worth protecting. Its HP is too low to firepotion, and shield/firepotion is just too many cards for too little advantage. The absolute best thing I can figure with am antlion is to use blessing on it, but that is still just weak.

My suggestion is to make the antlion targetable by its owner while it is burrowed, that would give it some synergies.

Of course so,me recoding would be needed to differentiate its burrow from the shriekers or the shrieker would need to lose its burrow ability.

Obviously that would be better for elite antlion. In a rainbow with multiple low cost creatures for fractal it's pretty decent.

Sorry for necro, but this topic needs a bump.

Unupgraded antlion just plain sucks. The burrow ability? That most often works against this card. Lowering it's attack to a mere 1. I say buff the stats, and perhaps take away the burrow ability :\

Upgraded antlion is perfect. 4|4 stats with for burrow is very nice.
