The individual task has a 2-point difference between best and 2nd best in the scoring, the 4xcombo task has suddenly 8-point difference. The combo tasks are neat idea to encourage team-work, but they should be still voted on separately aspect-by-aspect.

Yes, I propose individual voting then making the sum of the votes for each team as well.

Artist Task Review

  AbSTRACT
Hah, nice. Very iconic. The proportions are pretty much spot-on, but the flat shading does have a very detrimental effect on the overall shape; there's very little dimension to the character. Don't be afraid to go crazy with some contrast in there! Stronger light would've given a lot of shape to this particular character. Also, focus on drawing the hair's shape before you worry about the texture in it, it's a lot more important to give a strong idea of where the hair actually is than to make sure it looks line-y. All in all though, it's a pretty darn good one! But, err - is that a tire track on his shield?! xD

Thanks vrt, I must say you got it exactly right on the lights comment, in fact I was a bit afraid and tried to not exaggerate with strong lights - probably I still need some more experience to find the right balance on this aspect, I appreciate the hint.

And yes it was a tire track.. there was an evil truck rushing through the mine and trying to run over our brave dwarf, which barely managed to get the shield between him and the truck (..or maybe I just used a brush that didn't exactly produce the effect I wanted )

Kinda amusing that as many people complaining about the difficulty of voting for the combo task, 44 voted whereas only 37 voted for OT.

The fact that people voted doesn't mean most of them took the time needed to judge it. I'd bet most of them only voted based on the art and the card. (Which I don't blame anyone for, it's not like any voter has to spend much time before voting. But for the next combo task voting, Brawl Masters should really split the vote imo. (You could still add up the points in the end))

If you split the vote you should somehow include a means of gaining points for integrating all the parts - otherwise you make beautiful art that's not connected to your balanced card which doesn't use your PvP Masterpiece of a deck, which has nothing to do with your fiction.

If you split the vote I'd say add a additional poll judging how well the various pieces fit together, you can then weight the points on that poll as the Brawl Master's feel is appropriate.

On a totally separate note - keep up the good work teams - voting is fun!!
