Might I say, that deja vu looks tasty.
Lol, I told him it was a "Pasta Thingy"  :P
And there is still no pasta in my dejavu ;D

Team :darkness

At first, I thought: The blur in the mirror is a tad hindrance.
Then, I was all: Wait, it looks like when it's in motion to mirror itself!
Not sure which, but ish coo.
That's what my team said too, when I showed them the photo.. it looks a bit like they are moving :)
Thanks for your review.

Artist Task Review
Again, great entry quality. I'm impressed!

  :darkness AbSTRACT
I love how much effort you guys put into this! It's very recognizable, and nicely composed with the mirror there. The quality of the photo, however, is a bit lacking. There's a lot of grain, it's slightly out of focus, and it's overexposed. The light could've also worked better if it was more directional, as the mirror makes the overexposure quite a bit worse. The blurriness of the mirrored image, though, is actually really quite cool - it helps make it look 'magical' for lack of a better word. Nice job!
Thanks again for your feedback vrt. I tried to use the quite strong light to enforce a color that matches the :time element/card, I think that worked quite well, but might be the reason why it looks a bit overexposed. I'm also glad you like the bluriness, I first tried with much more sharpness and that didn't look good at all.. but "magical" is a really great word to describe it :)

Also again, respect to all other artists for participating with really great photos!

I'd just like to add a few positive comments about some of the submissions I liked the best:

Artist: I wanted to vote for all of them :p  It was really, REALLY hard to choose.  Ended up going for my own team (flaming voodoo doll ftw) and fire's nymph submission, because... well, I'm a guy :p
Card Designer Task: Surf Ninjas designed a card we could -really- use in the game.  Life badly needs a midrange creature like that.  Extremely useful and needed, and balanced very well.
Writer: I like time's phrases.  Very nice.  Not sure what the other language is supposed to be, but it makes me think of C'thulhu :)
FE+OT: Fire should just automatically win this task :p  So awesome... and obviously a lot of work put into it.

Would it be permissible for me to ask the FE and OTers one question?

Did you guys playtest your idea? A response would be greatly appreciated :)

P.S. Entropy was playtested several times over the course of the game development and seemed relatively balanced.

Yup, Crusaderps over here tested ours, and modified rules and abilities and such in order to actually balance them.  For example, it started with you being able to use as many abilities as you want in a turn, but that was definitely OP with growers.  If it counts, I won the first game in like 5 turns (graboid unburrow FTW), and he won the last one after a long drawn out battle (It's actually the game pictured in the example spoilers).  Didn't notice his wyrm (same way I got my graboid killer).  Balance wise everything seemed to check out, and we had a good time, I was a bit concerned sundial was slightly OP for a 1 cost card, but it wasn't what won the game. Just helped stall me for a couple turns.
My signature is too messy to read >.<

I'd like to remind players, especially bosses, that this is supposed to be a good natured event. As such, I highly, highly discourage players not using both votes, or changing their votes at the last second to weaken other teams by forcing ties. The precision with which the votes changed from my "early" (note, it really should have been 6 days anyways) standings and the updated standings leads me to believe that one of the teams may be doing this. While not illegal, it is very unsportsmanship like in my opinion and I'm sad to see it.

I'd be more likely to consider it had it not been for the precision with which ties appeared for certain teams causing only a loss in points for some teams.

Well, if it's not illegal, it's not illegal, as some might say.

OldTree's thoughts on the card design submissions
Spoiler for Hidden:
Daedalus
I am surprised that the great inventor was represented by only one of his inventions.
The card can teach airborne. However they made the teaching skill act like a growth effect for Daedalus. In this manner they are able to make the skill useful even if no other card in the match mentions airborne. (No wings, warden or skyblitz) In this manner it has a clever elegant solution to a design obstacle.
It seems to be well balanced.

Hercules
I fail to see the connection between the card and Hercules. The notes do not clarify either.
The card has a hidden Legendary-like effect. It does a good job at making this effect elegant but I question if the effect is desired.
Legendary cards are included as 1-2 copies to completely ignore that drawback. Thus this is a 7|7 for 5 :light that also generates quanta. Even with the possiblity of replacing an existing creature, I think it needs rebalancing.

Perseus (Since I made this I will only note the faults I see. The rest should speak for itself)
The card does something new but like most card suggestions, it is not groundbreaking.

Asclepius
Strangely enough this god was born of a god and a mortal and thus is a demigod as well.
The card tries to protect creatures from damage CC. Asclepius is still vulnerable (probably as an intentional balance tool). This means that each Asclepius will draw some CC before the protection is removed. At which point the withheld CC will recommence. A fair design.
It seems to be well balanced.

Ghatotkacha
It has a potential combo with a single card (Nightfall|Eclipse). This runs the risk of being a forced combo if the additional benefit is much greater than the additional cost. Nightfall and repeatable thunderstorm is probably too great a benefit for a mere Nightfall +  :aether :aether per turn.
The 33% evasion from enemy spells is new. (probably should have been listed first so it looks like it is separate from the activated ability)

Gilgamesh
It is a simple but new variation on a previous ability.
I wonder why it was placed in Life.
It seems to be roughly balanced.

I think it is wise to consider what the boss was trying to counter when voting for the boss task. It is best if the card was able to counter the card without simply going "nuh uh" like most hard counters do. Interaction and conflict is a good model for counters.

Spoiler for What happened:
Scenareo 1, task X:
  • Player A: 6 votes
  • Player B: 6 votes
  • Player C: 4 votes

1 Day later, same task:
  • Player A: 5 votes
  • Player B: 6 votes
  • Player C: 4 votes

As updating the standings a day before they end can bring this stuff, from the next round we will make it after they are done. No more problems, end of the discussion. And yes, it's a legal move.

Let's have fun, that's the purpose of the event!
