Artist Task ReviewAgain, great entry quality. I'm impressed!
AbSTRACTI love how much effort you guys put into this! It's very recognizable, and nicely composed with the mirror there. The quality of the photo, however, is a bit lacking. There's a lot of grain, it's slightly out of focus, and it's overexposed. The light could've also worked better if it was more directional, as the mirror makes the overexposure quite a bit worse. The blurriness of the mirrored image, though, is actually really quite cool - it helps make it look 'magical' for lack of a better word. Nice job!
Team Entropwny Cowboys A very nice rendition of the Ash card. Instead of a chestnut-ish thing, though, I would've really liked to see something with an LED or somesuch, perhaps even a play with some colored light. It could have made this absolutely amazing. There's few technical issues, though, even though the focus is slightly off, and there's a little hint of overexposure. All in all, it's a pretty good picture. Well done.
Team FireYou actually drew a Death mark onto some girl's shoulder? I love it! The posing and light is spot on, too.. But the image quality hurts. The focus is off, there's a lot of grain and blur, and it's horribly overexposed. And that's a shame, because this one could go really far otherwise. There's a definitely well-done concept, but the execution leaves some to be desired. I'd love to see this one done with just a little bit more love, it would've been awesome!
Team Crusaderps A lot like Team Fire. Possibly the most entertaining concept in the entire round, and very comically done.. But the execution's not there. A little more play with light, a better DOF, composition and whitebalance - it'd have
made this. I couldn't care less if the entire WIP was phone snapshots, but a little more love for that final picture would've gone such a long way. A shame, too - I was quite excited about this one!
Team Expensive Clocks The textures, the lighting, the composition, it all works so well for this picture.. But it leaves me wondering; what the hell is it? It's not solid enough to be an Obsidian Pillar, and it's lacking the bones for a Bone Tower. I'm just not entirely certain what I'm looking at, other than that it's really quite pretty. It just lacks that clear Elements identity for me.
Team Surf NinjasNice, simple, and recognizably Purify. Possibly the most effective picture of the bunch, but I'd have liked it to be a bit more dynamic. Of course, that'd entail swapping out materials, and that's always hard when it's just something quick for an online competition. The picture may be a little underexposed, but it doesn't hurt it too much. Very nicely done.
I strongly recommend everyone voting based on their own taste and perception of beauty. This is merely my own.
