Booster Draft 1 - Battles - Round 1
Round has ended.

Drafting is over and it's time to start fighting!

CLICK THE IMAGE TO SEE A LARGER VERSION

As a reminder, here are deckbuilding and battle rules:

DECKBUILDING
After card drafting, teams will have up to 24 different cards depending on how many Relics they aquired. Teams can use any number of these cards in their decks, while other teams cannot use those cards at all. Marks, Pillars and Pendulums (from any element) are free to use without any limitations. For each Relic your team has, all your team members can use one upgraded card during duels.

BATTLES
- Each round of battles lasts for 4 days.
- If the fight doesn't happen, we flip a coin, unless one player is clearly more active in trying to find a suitable time
- Battles are best-of-5. Player who first wins 3 duels, wins the battle
- You are allowed to switch decks and mark between rounds.

AFTER BATTLES
- Both winner and loser must provide their decklist in the battle result section (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/board,417.0.html). A short matchup review / play-by-play is recommended but not necessary.
- If you lose a battle, you are eliminated from the event, but are encouraged to help your team to win (remember, winning team gets added to the hall-of-fame)
- When all 4 players have lost, the whole team is eliminated from the event.

Good luck and have fun!

Game 1: Earth/darkness combo. One of RavingRabbid's trademark draws. His best deck against me, as it got me down to my lowest HP. I barely got any  :water, and he actually got wardens. My morningglory was truly what won me the game here. Had 2 fogs in my hand, too scared to play them.

Game 2: Water/Entropy stall I guess I can call it. Another trademark draw, his squids and entropy creatures were no match to...morning star!

Game 3: Back to the earth/darkness combo, but he brought drain lives this time. Better choice over devourers, he killed 2 of my golems and a forest spirit. But whenever he had a warden, I had a GP to kill it. Eventually got 3 spirits and a lycan out, and a fog shield. His minor vamps couldn't handle my damage. He actually got a large amount of pends in his hand this game, but never got anything besides DLs to use with it.

Good games RavingRabbid.
You're just as selfish as I am. You're just not as good at it yet.

Really fun close games.

1st Game - WIN - (Same deck used for the first 3 games)

Code: [Select]
55q 55q 55q 55q 55q 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5ro 5ro 5ro 5rr 5rr 5rr 5rt 5rt 5rt 5rt 5rt 5rt 74a
Clear counter to what he was using, as expected.  Easy win.... things get more interesting afterwards...

2nd Game - WIN

His deck change leaves me a little concerned as it is a good counter considering what he had to use in his draft cards.  I was able to lock him down somewhat early, leaving him with only one miracle to play.  I still had 40ish HP by the time poison overpowered him.

3rd Game - LOSS

Same matchup but I had a draw that left me without an eternity in the first 15 cards.  I was also low on quanta early on.  I was dead before anything really even got going as he had a nice draw.

4th Game - LOSS

Code: [Select]
4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4vi 4vi 4vi 4vi 52u 52u 55q 55q 55q 55q 590 590 5if 5if 5rg 5rg 5rg 5ro 5ro 5rt 5rt 5t2 5t2 5t2 6qq
I switched decks, hoping for a little more damage/CC.  However, I made this deck without testing and the quanta balance was way off.  Might have been interesting with a better design, but I didn't want to take the chance on another game trying to balance it, so I switched for the final.

5th Game - WIN

Code: [Select]
590 590 590 590 590 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5ro 5ro 5ru 5ru 5ru 5ru 5ru 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 7q8
Nearly perfect quanta creature draw for me here meant that once my turn 4 eternity showed up, I could breath a sigh of relief.  Low quanta start for him meant he was left for dead before he had a chance to play a miracle.

Really great counter designed by Team D considering what Kaker had to work with.  Great games and they had me sweating from what I thought was almost a sure victory before it turned south.

was kinda boring, long time played nothing, he plays shield + arsenic and i chain shields and drain to death at end. 1-0
second game:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5up 5up 5up 5up 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61v 61v 61v 61v 61v 61v 8pt

took modified mono aether, he had bad draw and i damaged him slowely. once he fractaled a bunch of scarabs i started to chain shields and he gave up (could've killed or decked him). 2-0
third game:
same modified mono aether as second game, but this one was close!
he had a very fast arsenic and shields and at the end i had only 33 hp left with 7 poison counters and used my last steal on his third shield but he had no more wich saved me.
great games sno, 3-0!

1st: Loss

Early Eternity for him saved his victory without much trouble.

2nd: Loss
Code: [Select]
5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5lb 5lb 5lb 5lb 5lb 5lb 5li 5li 5li 5li 5li 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5op 5opAn early Eternity showed up, when I had 2 Peggys out and a Miracle in hand. The question was now, either keep playing those Peggys, and hope it will be enough to kill him, before he kills me twice.
Since I had no hope in my deck, I chose the other way: Try and get more Peggys in the next 2-3 Cards. It failed very hard, as I only drew a Blitz and Pillars, so I was too slow in the end to overcome the stacking poison and died.

3rd: Win
Same Deck
He had 1 Pillar, and I had 5. Peggys came swarming the place and 2 Miracles showed up as well. It was over before his late Eternity came to its use.

4th: Win
Same Deck.
Great hand again. Peggys came swarming in, one was chaos - Pulled quite early and a few turns later he chaos- Copied another one, killing off my Pulled Peggy. A few turns later I won.

5th: Loss
Code: [Select]
5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5lb 5lb 5lb 5lb 5lb 5lf 5lf 5lf 5lf 5lf 5lf 5li 5li 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mqHad a really bad hand with 3 Pends, 1 Pillar and 3 Peggys. Next draw was another Peggy, then a blessing, followed by Miracle and yet another Peggy.
You can imagine my frustration of having so many beatyful creatures but no Quanta to play them whilst my opponent had ~5 Starting Pillars and always 0 Quanta. It was over before I could gather enough quanta to Miracle.

Aw yeah, I kind'a forgot my upgrades xD
Never mind, wouldn't have changed a thing.

Great games kirchj33 ^^ Never imagined I'd be able to pull those 2 victories off ;)

Round 1: Win
Code: [Select]
55k 55k 55k 55k 55k 55k 55k 55l 55l 55l 55r 55r 55r 55r 55r 55r 576 576 576 576 5l8 5l8 5l8 5lf 5lf 5lf 5lf 5lf 5lf 5li 7k2
Won toss.  Good hand, holding 2 otyugh, pillars/pendulums to fuel them.  Saw the fire mark and the quantum pillars, so was expecting growth creatures.  One otyugh out on turn 3, no creatures by Acsabi44.  Second otyugh, no creatures by Acsabi44.  Drew third and played him, no creatures from Acsabi44.  I knew I had the lock now.  Creature spam (2 golems, 2 spirits, 2 werewolves) + 1 gravity pull to kill 1 of my otyugh.  Wasn't enough.  I blessed my guys, ate away and finished without a problem.

Round 2: Win
Code: [Select]
5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5la 5la 5la 5la 5la 5la 5li 5li 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5uu 5uu 5uu 5uu 5uu 5uu
Lost toss.  OK hand, nothing too snazzy.  Saw quantum pillars and fire mark, expected same deck.  I vampired the growth creatures (golems and spirits) let the werewolves stay around.  Every dragon I put out was promptly killed by a gravity pull (5 in total thought the game).  Had good luck against the fog shield, vampired 2 dragons that gave me 10 health each before they died.   4 cards left for Acsabi44, my hand was empty, at 4 life.  He has 3 big werewolves out. I pull my miracle!! Out of death range now, deck-out win.

Round 3: Loss
Code: [Select]
52l 52l 52l 52l 542 542 542 542 542 542 542 542 5li 5li 5li 5li 5uu 5uu 5uu 5uu 5uu 5uu 606 606 606 606 606 606 606 606 7k2
Lost toss.  I tried to pull a counter to his growth deck... wasn't a great idea.  My counter was countered hard.  Miracled twice, but he had 4 titans flying, a colossal dragon, and 1 titan in weapon slot... 10 cards left by end.  No chance.

Round 4: Win
Code: [Select]
5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5lb 5lb 5lb 5lb 5lb 5lb 5lf 5lf 5lf 5lf 5lf 5lf 5li 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5op 5op 7k2
Won toss.  Perfect hand.  Saw he was running fire/water.  Knew he had no creature CC, so I put my 1 peggi out there and blessed him twice.  Nymph tears led to raging nymphs... oh.. he does have CC.  Blessed the peggi once more, making him 12/11, out of double rage death.  Turn 7, 10 air quanta.  flew peggi, sky blitz = 48 damage by peggi!!

Good games Acsabi44.  I had some crazy luck on my side.  RNG decided to bless me after all the silliness it was doing for me in war.

thank you, and GGs.
You had luck on your side
(with a lucky topdecked Miracle and a huuge Pegasus, which was fun to watch, even from the wrong side of it :) )
 anyways my decks:

Round1:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4vh 4vh 4vh 55t 55t 55t 55t 5c1 5c1 5c1 5f6 5f6 5og 5og 7dq 7dq 7dq 8po

Quick otys made sure tham my 1-HP creatures die if/when played. 0-1

Round2:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4vh 4vh 4vh 55t 55t 55t 5c1 5c1 5c1 5f6 5f6 5fa 5fa 5og 5og 74d 74d 7dq 8po

I added some pulling force to deal with Otys but I ended up facing another deck. I pulled (and killed) his Light Dragos and set up a few creatures. Ak56ala Miracled himself once, but my creatures were down, and hitting him hard. In the end , with me 2 cards left in the deck and he~10 HPs and no cards in hand, I thought I would win but he topdecked a Miracle. ouch... 0-2

Round3:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
55k 55k 55k 55k 55k 55k 55k 55k 55k 55k 55k 55o 55s 55s 55s 55s 55s 55s 55t 55t 5og 5oi 5oi 5oi 5oi 5oi 5oi 748 74d 74d 8pr

Ak wanted to kill my 1-HP growing creatures with Skull Shield, but I changed my deck. I was lucky with drawing my Titans, by round ~8, 4 of them were down, followed by a massive dragon. He had some Miracles but my damage was faster. 1-2

Round4:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f6 5f6 5f6 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5i4 5i4 5ig 5ig 5ig 5ig 5ii 5ii 5ii 5ii 5ii 5ii 5jm 5jm 8pp

I thought he'll bring back the oty deck with something vs the Titans, so I wanted to play some faster-than-flying titans- damage mixed with CC. Ak ended up playing a pegasus deck. By turn7, he had a 48-damage dealing one which was too much for me.

Thank you, and good luck for the rest of the tourney!
