I did read it, but why are we making deals anyway?
to make sure we get a team? to make sure we get in a team we want?
that's not war in elements, that's just lame...
You said it yourself, and I agree it can be lame. As others have stated, there are some people who will do practically anything to get on a team or get the player they want.

well, that was a big note(left me with some serious curiosity).
I predict he will cost at least a rush deck at the end of the auction. Good luck to all of those who try to get him, because it could easily turn into an epic quest.
who would have said that there would be politics in the event?
"lame"
Just that.

I think it's obvious people would try to get in the teams they want for as cheap as possible and make deals. I also see NOT A SINGLE THING wrong with that. All of you panicking on this matter can stop, because it's getting rather stupid and annoying. I mean... seriously:

I did read it, but why are we making deals anyway [...], that's just lame...
some people hate that and want to be able to choose their own paths, and will go through any length to do so
So, you consider those things bad and to prove your worthiness and increase your e-peen and boost your ego you go ahead and offend basically all the Masters and the veterans in the community? Well done. You are now 300% more respected.

Now the matter SV ACTUALLY DID TALK ABOUT is a very different and serious problem and I respect him even more (if possible) for voicing it out.

Though, perhaps you should've gone Mercenary? :P

1) Why is it lame?
2) SV HIMSELF says this is not he's been talking about.

I think it's totally fine for a player who is friends with a master / likes an element, etc to end up on that team. That doesn't mean it's automatically bad for there to be an understanding between masters.
I am not upset that some masters made some basic deals about senior players; that will always happen.
3) What SV IS talking about is:

What IS bad is trying to manipulate the whole event beforehand, like some have. Telling different groups of people different things without being honest one way or another. This event only lasts a couple of months, and then what? Is it worth having deceived each other for one community event, hurt each others' feelings, or had newbies start out with the impression that it's a "dog eat dog" community? Of course not.
I fail to see how you could misunderstand him.

I think it's totally fine for a player who is friends with a master / likes an element, etc to end up on that team. Not to single out players, but just to take an example: Will people be surprised if nilsieboy ends up on team Water? Or if Glitch ends up on team Life?

That doesn't mean it's automatically bad for there to be an understanding between masters.

What IS bad is trying to manipulate the whole event beforehand, like some have. Telling different groups of people different things without being honest one way or another. I am not upset that some masters made some basic deals about senior players; that will always happen. I am quite unhappy with the extent of dealmaking that spans into trying to get people to make bad decisions on purpose.

Anyway I look forward to the event. The fun thing about being a slave is you never know where you will end up!
what kind of bad decisions? I don't pay attention to these things

I said I didn't pay attention to who was manipulated into doing what bad things...
and from what I comprehended from the first few comments was that this is about masters and players making deals
which sounds lame to me, SV clarified that it's not his point, and I stopped talking about it, until you brought it up again
and now I am asking what's the real topic, and you just want me to die...

Hey now, don't be mean and depressing.

It's a forum, not life. People are people, don't let people bother you for anything at all.
Whenever you feel alone and nobody is there, you can't feel more alive.

I guess I can clarify a little:

If two people make a simple deal that benefits both, I think that is fine. Using some discretion and some modesty here helps. If there is a single player who really wants to be on your team, you can have an understanding about that. I don't think it hurts the community at all.

On the other hand, if you try to win a player by convincing a less-experienced master that the player is actually worthless, or if you try to force them into a bad strategy to really benefit yourself, well I am very against that. Similarly, if you make deals about every player in War before the auction starts, and try to control the whole event, I think it goes against the spirit of things. There is a such thing as fair play ... and believe it or not it is more important than winning a community event.

Anyway I think the issue has been adequately covered. Hopefully all teams will have some good players and a fair chance when War starts. If anyone has serious problems with me or my application please feel free to PM me and we can discuss.
