Fatal Fractal Fish

I figured I would try the new Fractal card and try to work it into a speed poison deck with Pufferfish.  Its only going ok; I can't figure out the sole thing keeping it from being great here.  Anyone wish to take a gander at it?

I have tried many things with those puffer fish.  Each time it comes back to the cost.  It makes a "speed" version extremely difficult.  5 is a rather absorbent cost, maybe less shards?  Do you find you need them to survive long enough for the combo to take effect?

Yeah, the 5 cost is gonna be pretty prohibitive when you're trying to rush. Fractal is best with cheap (quanta-producing) creatures.

Mhm. Perhaps try Chrysaora instead? It's 1 turn slower to kill, and you'll need 3 kinds of pillars, and they're really easy to Firestorm, and...

Ah, I didn't know. I haven't had time to load up the trainer and look at stuff in about 2-3 days so I wasn't aware of the changes. Now I know.

I'm thinking its just the Pufferfish cost, even if it was 4 it would be far more viable.

I think the cost is not worth it.  For 2 damage and a poison, IF it gets by the shields, why does it cost 5?  Are there any cards cost-wise that can compare?  I think there is a semi-lack of medium value cards.
