I like ... so would Genbu gain any stats for killing a monster? Or does nothing happen when the target creature is killed? Imo, the former (no stat gain from killing) seems a little better than the latter

Ya, it's just like small quick bites, not death by poison... and Genbu doesn't get any benefit from it.

Then yeah, that seems good... not OP as Genbu gains nothing from killing target creature, and not really UP since Genbu has decent stats and damage -1

even you said genbu is a 'black tortoise'  but his snake is a whiteone?

....and I'm going to do another small change to Genbu.

The active ability will now be:

: Snake Bite Drain 1 HP from the target. For even more Genbu longevity.

I would've left it the way it was, really. now it seems like an OP card, and almost unkillable.

I find it interesting how different this is from the other incarnations of Genbu I've seen in other things. Your Seiryuu is very different too.

As such I'm interested to see what you come up with for the other 2 sacred beasts. How are you going to avoid Suzaku (I'm assuming that's the "Golden Phoenix" as you say it's fire) being just a souped up regular Phoenix?

Wait, is the "Golden Phoenix" female then as male Phoenixes are apparently "Hou'ou"?
Do Phoenixes even have genders?

I went through a whole bunch of ideas for Suzaku. Obviously, the Phoenix card has the most logical ability, so I had to go in a different direction. I can only describe the ability as 'simple'.

Sometimes simple = elegant .. we'll see what other people think though....
