I think I saw this card while I was playing against 10 men's AI. There will be awesome combos with this one. Nice card.

I don't think that's possible. Was it in the trainer or the main game site?

It was on trainer when I played Top50 against 10men. I saw it on spins.

All AI have Silence in their decks on the trainer. All of them. Even the ones who can't use it. It's so we can observe how the AI chooses to use it. Oh, and if anyone wondered, playing 2 Silence in a turn does nothing more than playing 1. x)

A very interesting card! Also, a very powerful one.

A card that rewards skill.
It encourages players not to play their deck on auto-pilot mode.
Also, Reverse Time (the best card in the game, another one that scales up with the player's skill) just got better.

(I think Silence was used in D&D much before Final Fantasy)

Aether/Time. Aether for silencing. Time for hourglasses. He'll speed through his deck while you sit unable to do a damn thing that sounds like Elements Hell XD

Like others before me, I'm a bit worried about balance. Chaining 6 of these would be brutal.

I haven't had time to read the whole discussion, nor do I know the details of the development process of this card, but it was my understanding that the original idea was to prevent the opponent from using spells. This would of course probably be way too underpowered because not all decks have spells.

Here's one idea:

Why not make Silence like Sundial and have it affect both players? Instead of silencing the other player, you silence the whole battlefield. This would definitely nerf it a bit, plus it would actually make sense.

If it affected both players, it would negate the chain effect, since you wouldn't be able to play Silence on the consecutive turn. That's probably for the best.

Or,it´s like sundial, the first turn without playing cards is yours.

You can only play Silence, if it is the FIRST card of the turn you play. You play the card, you can´t play other cards, your opponent can´t play cards, and you are able to play another Silence in the next turn..

This also prevents using this card in the 1st turn. (you always play quanta sources before you play a spell).

I dont think effecting both players would be good, although, how it is currently, just seems a little broken... Perhaps just allowing the player to place creatures, and not use any skills/permanents/spells...
