During the preparation phase
I became quite hopeless about this, realizing that I had to expect many deck archetypes without having many means of hard-countering them (especially Poison stalls and The Immortal). But
it got worse. bogtro seemed to predict everything I threw at him correctly and to decide to outrush it.

Seeing that most people open their duels with a rush, I wanted to take the surprise route. What made me fail was a 1-pillar start and a lack of
quanta during the whole game. Perhaps one has to be a
cockroach to get this deck to work. It should turn out to be the only game I could have won with some more luck.

Optimal start (4 playable creatures in only 7 turns) while he missed his Animate Weapon. When it came, however, I was pretty much screwed. As he had a total vampiric attack of 13+13+15 at the end, two Elite Armedilgos would have made this a bit closer as they would have absorbed all three attacks. But that's just
theory.

What I've (re-)learnt today: Devtal doesn't like fast rushes. Near-optimal start again, then I had to watch him overtake me like hell. Nothing more to say about it, the
Devourers were never able to stop anything of what was happening in the upper half.

Now I knew that only my two weakest decks were remaining and there had been no sign of The Immortal so far. The only thing I got were my Shockwaves to destroy his nymphs while I was yelling at my Discords why they didn't topdeck and watching every dragon burn up.
Fahrenheit sealed it.
At this point I realized that I could have won game 3 with this - heck, that I could have finished the duel at least 3-2 with another order of my decks. You can try to figure it out if you want, I leave that as an exercise to the forum regulars.

I predicted the Immortal correctly but wasn't able to build a good counter on the fly out of
. So I reminded myself of
the tiny chance that I wouldn't have to face her. My outrushing capabilities weren't as bad as I expected but the Stone Skins helped bogtro draw the dreaded Miracle. After my the mistake of stealing two Sancs instead of waiting for the Diamond Shield, everything was pretty much decided. Also, Dissanc ftw.
Very good games, bogtro, at least I had lots of fun losing against you. Hi Oa and dd, now I know what your pain feels like. Good luck to all the competitors, see you next round.
Not being able to exchange any marks when you've lost 0-5 sucks.Marks remaining:
