Hello there! This is a topic for the test run of the first minievent.
You can read more about this idea here:
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,43506.0.html In short, a minievent is a 2-3
days rounds long PVP event hosted for ~30 players. Participiants would play in each of the
"event days" rounds(note that due to timezone issues, an
"event day" round might be slightly longer than 24 hours, but never shorter), and deckbuilding and/or game rules would vary every
"event day" round.
UPDATE: We are considering longer rounds. The first one will definitely be longer than 24hrs, and I plan to post the match-ups for the next round while the current round is going on. This will make shceduling the matches easier. This particular event will be 3
event days rounds, and players are expected to play a duel every
day round, so please only sign up if you think you can be here everyday until sunday-monday.
Or more like monday-tuesday and maybe wednesdayI came up with the idea and others seemed to like it, so I decided to make a test run and see how it goes.
Please participate if you are interested, and/or add feedback.Since this is an unofficial event, I will post the topics here in General discussion, and keep in touch with the participiants via PMs.
There are a bunch of possible rulesets in my head; for now, I went with the one I think is the most flavorful and easy (both on the players and on the organizers), which is:
Minievent: Adventurer In TrainingGreetings, fellow would-be adventurers! I heard you want to explore the world, seeking fame and wonders, wild beasts and unimaginable treasures. But you know, the world out there is full of dangers, and an unprepared adventurer would soon die a gruesome death. That is why me, an old seasoned dragonslayer, decided to help you by teaching how to best arm yourself and fight with your opponents. When you are ready, you will prove yourselves in battle against a ferocious monster.
Onwards to adventure!
*okay this is pretty lulzy, but if the minievents get official, then maybe backstory will be written by someone more adept*
GuidelinesThe
General PVP Event rules aplpy here as well.
The minimum number of players is 10
The maximum number of players is 24
Number of players has to be an even number, so if an odd number of players signs up, then the organizer will participate as well.
Each player will play 1 duel every
day round, so a total of 3 duels during 3
event days round.
Each
event day round will have different deckbuilding rules.
Each round will have a "rule of the round" (similar to event cards in War), which may affect deckbuilding, pairings, duels and/or scoring.
This is an unupped, no shard, no Nymph event. Other rares are allowed.
*To make it more beginner-friendly. There will be no-rare tourneys as well as semi- or even fully upped ones and anything in between*At the beginnning of each
event day round, the rules for the day will be posted and the participiants will be paired randomly.
From round 2 and on, the pairings will be made and posted during the previous round. All participiants will be notified by PM.
ScoringAfter each duel, the winner must post the results in the current
day round topic. Decklists are mandatory as well.
If the duel does not happen, both players lose by default unless one was clearly more active.
Duels will be best of 3
After each round, the participiants will earn points as follows:
- Winning 2-0 : 3 points
- Winnnig 2-1: 2 points
- Losing 1-2: 1 point
- Losing 0-2: 0 points
The loser will get 1 point as long as s/he managed to win atleast one game.
End of eventAfter 3
days rounds, the player with the most points win. If two or more players are tied for the first place, they will fight again, using the
day3 round3 rules to determine the winner.
The winner of the event gets mad props.
*If this goes official, there will be a forum icon and maybe some in-game reward as well*
