NOTES:
The skill that is absorbed could cost X :aether to use, where X is the number of quanta the skill costs when the original creature used it.  Willing to change the name/image/atk|hp/ etc of the creature, I think the skill is the most important part.  The skill would remove the ability from the target creature, just as the "Steal|Improved Steal" cards take a permanent from the opponent and add it to your side.

Cost of the skill?

Also, DeviantArt art is copyrighted.

Aye, in the notes I mentioned I didn't know how to add the cost of the skill into the ability field.  I think 2 or 3 :aether would be appropriate.

I was told that if you ask nicely people at deviant art were likely to allow their art to be used.

I thought a wizard was an advanced mage...
I think you should swap the card names.

Other than that I like the card.

Ironically, I did too and they were originally swapped, but based on feedback in the Steal My Idea thread and in the chatroom, I switched mage and wizard as the people that responded all said mages>wizards.  I am not apposed to them being switched back.

So.. steal as in remove it from the creature and gain it on itself. Pretty cool, I guess, and could be used in a rainbow deck well, but, since we already have skill removal in Lobo, I'd like to see something new. But yes, neat idea. I've always liked Blue Mages. I do agree Wizards are far above Mages, though. They're experienced and veritable fountains of wisdom. A Mage is simply a term for someone practising magic (lawfully). It would also be in keeping with the Final Fantasy Blue Mages/Wizards.

Just realized that this creature used on a lava golem + SoR would be epic. +3|+1 each turn for no cost.

Yeah, my posts lack insight today.  Had to delete this one as it missed the obvious.

So some comments that I've already given to you in chat, but I can give them here for permanence:

- 'newly absorbed' rather than 'absorbed'... it's pretty clear as it is but if someone reads it fast they might read it as 'absorb ability' and not 'absorbed ability'

It's OP right now:
for 10 aether quanta and 2 turns, you can play a blue mage (5), quint it (3) and next turn absorb a devour (2) OR a growth (2)
--> u create an immortal 2|10 blue mage with devour that gains +2 | 0 (with devour with 10 hp!!!)
--> u create an immortal 2|10 blue mage with growth that gains +3 | +1 (!!!)

In contrast:
--> otuygh (5) + heavy armor (1) + quint (3) = 9 quanta of 3 elements to create an immortal 0 | 11 otuygh that gains +1 | +1 (but remember 3 elements, so rainbow deck or supernovas needed)
--> lava destroyer (5) + heavy armor (1) + quint (3) = 9 quanta of 3 elements to create an immortal 7 | 7 destroyer that gains +2 | +2 and once again, rainbow deck or supernovas needed

So I think you need to either lower it's starting HP OR make it so that -1 hp always occurs, no matter what ability is used (so it becomes +2 | -1 for devour, and +3 | -1 for steal)

Thanks troz and everyone that made comments, I was psyched that people were interested in talking about my cards.

Here are the first round of changes:
The names switched
The HP was reduced to 5|8 respectively
the word "newly" was added to the description

another thing that was just brought up in chat is that the card is of a female when the term wizard infers that it is a male.  so i will consider other options for the 2nd card.  (so far witch, sorceress, enchantress have been mentioned, as well as just sticking with blue mage for both cards)

also it was mentioned that 8 was too high for the upgraded cards HP, so 6 or 7 may be a better idea.
