Obviously deflag is more powerful than this, but it offers some PC to life which doesn't have any...another way this could work is as :time with the idea of time destroying stuff, instead of nature reclaiming its land...I could decrease the turn count by 1 if you guys feel necessary...Any comments are appreciated :)

i understand that you are relatively new here and cannot possibly have seen every card idea that has been submitted, but destroying a permanent after x turns is not a new idea.  its not a bad one though, so keep thinking them up

I didn't think he made this with the idea of it being a new one, but more for a new idea of how to add PC to Life. This looks balanced while adding some PC to Life, and yet... Dim Shield still counters Life. Hmm... not sure what my opinion is about that. Could be good...

Yah as a new member I can't really make a card hoping that my idea is "new" seeing as there's been so many submissions. If my idea does turn out to be original, great, but what I try to do is create more variety and versatility in decks...here life is a pretty strong element, so its lack of CC/PC kind of nerfs it...what I was aiming for with this card was to offer life some PC, but making sure the PC isn't as good as steal or deflag...

i understand what you guys are saying, but a few points-
the goal of the cia forum is to submit ideas for zanz to consider to put into the game
if a card idea (ie mechanic) has already been submitted, it is trivial to change the element, and as such, is not a significant difference
it is understandable that nobody, not even i, can have read every card idea, but as such, when it is pointed out that the mechanic is not novel, it is up to the card designer to alter the card mechanic to be distinct, or opt to drop it if they are unable to do so.  there is no "penalty" for not knowing that the card idea has already been thought up when you post your card, so no worries.

with all that said, i have given some attempts at giving pc to life, and encourage the development of new mechanics for doing so.

Hmmm I agree with what you're saying with the exception of the second one; creating a CC card for fire is way different from making the same card in say light...but yah imma be brainstorming how to change this card...

in the past, zanz has applied card idea submissions to elements other than that which it was submitted, it is trivial.  also, he has taken a card idea that was submitted as a creature ability and applied it in the form of a spell, so that is also trivial.

another line of thought- a lot of card ideas are submitted, can you imagine how cluttered and tedious it would be if every idea was submitted in each of the twelve elements? (thirteen if you include 'other'; fourteen if you include the psuedo elements)

i think he is referring to the fact that zanz has not added a single elemental weapon to the game (elemental meaning "not other").  and this is true to some extent, however, weapons can often very easily be converted to creatures, so its mostly moot.

if you are just making cards for fun, and do not want them added to the game, you need not submit them to level 1, as you will just be clogging up the system in place for that purpose.

I'm still missing something, what about rare weapons? Aren't those "elemental weapons" or did you mean something like long sword but in an element? Cuz bow/gavel/dirk kinda fit that that...
