Unupgraded
Current Challenge: Beat the Highscore! In this challenge, challengers effectively don't compare their skills with me, but with the other challengers.
How does this work?Me and a friend have created 10 decks, each around a certain theme. These decks are at least a bit creative and should be great fun to play against.
Challengers pick one of those decks and play BO3 against it. If they win, they get to pick a second one, until they finally lose or actually manage to win against all 10.
There will be a "hall of fame" announcing the best challengers.
What is special about this challenge? Each deck has a theme. Challengers will be able to see each decks name - which gives strong hints about the decks theme and thus the cards used. Challengers are allowed to create a deck that counters the cards they think the deck will contain! Thus this challenge is
a) an interpretative one - what cards could that name stand for?
b) a deckbuilding one - how can those cards be countered?
c) a PvP challenge - obviously.
Isn't it boring if quite a lot of challengers will be able to beat all 10 decks?Yes. This is why there's an additional rule. Each game after the first one, 2 or 4 (see below) more cards of the challenged decks will be upgraded. The challenger isn't allowed to play a single upgraded card.
How strong will those decks be?In their fully unupgraded form, the decks will be on about AI3 level, or slightly above.
More rules:-upgraded cards are banned (for challengers)
-the first deck the challenger faces is fully unupgraded.
-if a challenger wins 2-0, the next deck he faces will have 2 upgraded cards more than the previous one.
-if a challenger wins 2-1, the next deck he faces will have 4 upgraded cards more than the previous one.
-of course, not all matches have to be played on one day.
-the decks that are to be challenged will not change once one challenger has played against them to ensure comparability.
-you can NOT change your deck in a BO3, only before facing the next (different) deck.
Now, good luck and much fun to all challengers!
