Woohoo!
This was definitely a fun competition. The only thing I would change is to allow multiple submissions like some of the other competitions did. I had a lot of fun ideas, but fire was the easiest one to come up with a complete set for.
I mostly agree with OldTrees, even about how mine was more of an expansion of design space than a re-imagining. Thing is, it would be really difficult to come up with something that doesn't fit the element as it is but doesn't completely go out of bounds. For example, I used Avatar as my inspiration for what fire could be (Iroh and Jeong Jeong, not the evil ones.) There aren't many cards in this game, so it's really hard to come up with something that couldn't be seen as a subtheme of an element if the game ever expanded to include hundreds of cards per element.
I think there was a competition before where just one card had to be shifted to a new element right? That seems like it would be a lot easier to judge than this was.
