NOTES:
A unique method of permanent control for Air and possibly Light. Also serves as a mid-hitter for Air.

After "Martyr" is used and the permanent is selected, Skybreaker is removed from the field, not triggering death effects, and a permanent with the same name is added to your field. The cost of the ability "Redemption", or X, is equal to the cost of the permanent destroyed by "Martyr".


Perhaps a little too complicated or unnecessary, but an interesting idea nonetheless.

Hm, I'd personally make this a bit more frailer.  Maybe 4 HP?

And considering that ATT is going up with no cost change, I feel HP should not change when upgrading as it is leaving the point where it is affected properly by Rage Potion or Lightning.  Especially as it can heal itself every other turn...

Also, you could make the permanent use several :light [It has the word 'Holy' in the name and the ability is called 'Redemption'] to respawn Skybreaker.

Nonetheless interesting and a great idea.  Whether or not if fits :air is a different question.

The card with Redemption is the Permanent [note the icon.]

Cards such as Steel Golem, Elite Shrieker, and Elite Cockatrice all receive more significant or equal stat buffs when upgraded without a change in playing cost. Based on this, I think this card is balanced. Although, stats of 8|5 when upgraded might work as well.

Also, I did consider having "Redemption" cost Light quanta, but I feared it would make this card only useful in Air/Light duos. In its current form it can be used in most Air decks.



EDIT: Responding to below, because I didn't want to make a one sentence post.

That is a fair and true point, although I'll wait for at least one other comment on the issue before changing it.

The issues I find with those comparisons is that Steel Golem is not as CC prone and Shrieker and Cockatrice are still within bounds of CC.  Skybreaker, I feel, crosses the HP niche line that requires at least a cost increase or removal or additional HP.

Also, none of those cards have a means of regenerating.  Holy Skybreaker does.

What i think of this:
-The "Martyr" word sounds like someone sacrificing himself for the greater good, but i feel this active is a pure bonus. It's like burrow to some extent. Skybreaker doesn't attack while Martyr'd, but he's on heal mode. I think that should count in the balance.
-Stats are pretty high for this type of creature. Creatures with utility/actives tend to have low-ish stats, especially attack. See Maxwell's Demon, Butterfly Effect, Arctic Squid, every poison applier, and so on.
-PC for air would be good, and makin git subpar like you did makes sense, concept-wise this is fine.

Those were my 2 cents.
