What if in EtG there was no lower or upper card cap for your deck? You still could only have 6 copies of one card (besides pillars/pends). What would the metagame look like? What would be a good deck? Will any new strategies come up?

15x Firelances, 15x Fire towers.  Oh dear.

EDIT: Or Ghostmare with 12 nightmares  :o

Derp.  Anyway, Most decks wouldn't drop below 25 cards or so, just for efficiencies sake.  OTKs and the like would be a lot faster.  All you need is quanta and combo, you probably don't even need a lot of stalling.

You still can only have 6 copies of one card. Just the size of your deck is not capped. I'll rename the thread to be more clear.

All the OTK decks would get smaller. Sundials would be used a lot less.

Nah don't think so. Sundial gives a turn of stalling while not costing a card if you use its ability.  Precognitions would be used a lot less.  Hourglasses would still be useful, but see a slight drop.

What would the metagame be like if there was no limit to how big or small your deck size could be?
What is the fewest number of cards for an OTK? (Supernovas included) Some decks would be just a few cards more than that.
What is the optimal immolation or supernova hand? Some decks would be just enough cards to not deck out.
There would also be the Silence + Nightmare + CC deckout deck. (Silence early vs Immo and late vs OTK. Nightmares after Silence vs Immo and before Silence vs OTK)

30 card decks are already too small when you can use 6 copies of one card, so decreasing the size would be a very bad thing.  They would make combo decks way too easy to pull off.  Imagine something like a 15-20 card instosis deck... :p

Increasing the deck size limit probably wouldn't enable any new killer decks, but they would increase the number of fun decks.  One of the things I used to do in Magic: the Gathering, when playing with either an AI that was dumb or with human opponents who were either unskilled or didn't own good decks was to use way oversized fun decks without any real thought to whether it would win or not; I'd just throw in lots of cool stuff and silly synergies and things like that.  Increasing the deck size cap would enable more of that sort of thing, but I don't think it would enable any really competitive decks, at least in the current meta.

A Quintessence, a blue crawler, 5 photons, flooding, SoP, 2 PA's, a Miracle, some water and a LOT of light quanta generation, and you've build a ~25-card pseudo-OTK :)
