Woo! I actually won something! This is how Round 1 should have gone. But who the heck added that much Adrenaline to the match?
Game 1:
Win. Earth Mark. Waitwut, The Immortal? Lolno, a Grabbow. Topdecked Fire and Emerald Shield, yay! 2 Ragepots weren't enough, so the first assault got me down to 33 HP with me playing 1 Heal. Then no more Heals came. Fire Shield gets destroyed, I play Emerald Shield for damage reduction, suddenly facing two 11|6 Shriekers. Luckily, the fifth bolt came in time with 72 quanta.
Game 2:
Loss. Again, early Fire Shield and enough Ragepots for the first threats. I thought that I could grind down that blessed Shrieker to 0 HP but two Heals weren't enough; I should have bolted it and the other ones to win by deckout. My dragon got frozen, by the way. At 34 HP, I don't pay enough attention; suddenly Nova, Blessing, a Lightning on me and an evolving Graboid make me pay for my stupidity. I've practised situations like this but apparently it was too late at night for me to remember it while bjessee had timed and calculated well. I guess it's this what separates the vets from the noobs.
Game 3:
Win. This is where the real epicness came. 3rd turn Fire Shield again, here comes topdeck drolly! Three Ragepots help dealing with the early Pegasi and Shriekers. At 12 HP, I hope for a Heal - and it comes. Phew! The dragon manages to grind my opponent down to 60 HP. When things were starting to get critical again, I had 47 quanta and 4 bolts. Awesome spreadsheet says that's just 57 HP and the dragon was frozen at that time. So, one bolt has to go to a Pegasus and I've got to go for full risk. bjessee calls me unsporting, that might be true. Next turn, I'm at 7 HP instead of defeated, my dragon unfreezes and I get a fourth bolt. I needed only three so I left the last in my hand. No, I let the last Pegasus live, I'm not that evil.
Many, many thanks to bjessee who apparently postponed an appointment to get the match played. Thanks for reminding us we still had a match left, for your patience facing a Firestall and for showing your skilled gameplay. Dear team, here's a relic for you.
