New Passive Skill: Aquatic/Amphibian https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=35904.msg451572#msg451572

As flying creatures have the "Airborne" skill and the land creatures have "Burrow", water creatures should have an own skill "Aquatic" (or a name something like this).
This skill should fit to :water creatures and creatures like the Horned Frog.

Which kind of advantages can have in water?
Creatures like frogs, fishes or weird creatures like the Jesus Christ lizard  (
&feature=related) increase their speed in water.

Quote from: eaglgenes101
Water can submerge itself to escape. Whether what causes it catches it depends on what chases it.
So it can be a defensive skill.

In addiction we can think to an active skill like:  :water Submerge with an effect similar to burrow (no hp half but reachable from other aquatic creature and spell like thunderstorm, thunderbolt or shockwave).

Ok, I think this can be a good staarting point. Discuss :)

For reference : Submerge | Improved Submerge (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=17750.0)

Water creatures cloaking in deep water is a potential ability.
You could also have a creature that generates quantum underwater (like a deep-sea digger for :earth or a anglerfish for :light ).

As there are tons of land creatures in this game, we can tell that water isn't everywhere, in contrast to the sky.
That's what Flooding is (thematically) for.

Flooding definitely has the potential to move from an underused :water Water card to an entire niche in which new card ideas may complement, as is suggested by Shard of Patience.

:water Water creatures being cloaked (pre-Cloak blanket) is definitely as possibility as it makes thematic sense.

I wholeheartedly support the Aquatic passive. It's always nice to see the introduction of --logical-- passives. I think some of the passives in the game, don't quite make sense, but seeing as the game has its limitations, have been called passives so that more effects could fit on the card.

Unlike airborne, here aren't many creatures that could be considered aquatic. The only ones I can think of are Water creatures, Horned Frog and nymphs. Right now, applying certain effects to Water creatures is more practical than applying them to aquatic creatures.

Unlike airborne, here aren't many creatures that could be considered aquatic. The only ones I can think of are Water creatures, Horned Frog and nymphs. Right now, applying certain effects to Water creatures is more practical than applying them to aquatic creatures.
We have to differentiate 2 types of species:
-What can live underwater.
-What can take advantages in the water.

1st category apply to water creatures and acquatic plants, and we can think to a defensive ability like the "cloack when underwater".
2st category apply to horned frog and to a lot of animals still not used: Crocodiles, reptiles (Jesus Christ Lizard too), turtles, several snakes, worms, duckes and some kind of insects too. These are creatures which may not be included in  :water cards, like the other airborne non :air creatures.
Generally they hunt or feed, so they increase their attack or speed or allow to reproduce it in a HUGE number.

So we can differentiate these in 2 natural abilities:
Acquatic.
Amphibian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amphibian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amphibian)). To this we can build a skill like the airborne theme.

I'm interested in particular in speed theme or moviment theme, which is a mechanic not so used in the game except for adrenaline.

Yes water needs these passives. This also got me to thinking about other possible passives and field affects. One per element but of course there are creatures that overlap into other elements. Then there could be some that benefit creature types, example: insects.

In order to come up with good functional ideas for localized field affects, the field map setup is needed.

Ground must be paved before any new type passive is added. The type needs to expand to be in many elements and many creatures.

In the case of aquatic and amphibious, more sources of water are also needed.

A fast reply. I'll continue the discussione when I'll not so much busy as now :)

Here 2 examples which are not :water cards:

Personally i think there should be more fish like creatures for example
-Sharks
- Jellyfish

This way if there was a new passive skill like this then more creatures would benifit
