NOTES:
This card is not a rare, hence the lack of a virtue in it's name. It's meant to be an "imitation" shard, created by Elementals who currently do not possess the real ones, and refracts Elemental energy (marks and creatures) to imitate a shard effect (placing in hand). I'm also aware of the similarities to Metamorphosis (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,29558), but I feel the mark effect has a unique role here because it forces the player to be creative instead of just splashing this card for the sake of shards while giving a player a given advantage with the shards they choose to create.

Targeting an Other-type creature such as an animated Long Sword gives you a random shard.

Target pillar becomes a shard? Doesn't this mean you can just destroy an opponent's pillar and generates a shard of your mark? Also, why random pillar? I don't know if it makes much sense that you're changing fire pillars into shards of patience. There also isn't any difference between the unupped and upped version, though I'm assuming you mean for the upped one to create an upped shard.

Target pillar becomes a shard? Doesn't this mean you can just destroy an opponent's pillar and generates a shard of your mark? Yes, like nymph's tears.
Also, why random pillar? I don't know if it makes much sense that you're changing fire pillars into shards of patience. I wanted to make the cards slightly different besides "Turn pillar into this card." The upgraded version offers more flexibility while the unupped probably works better in an element-focused deck. There also isn't any difference between the unupped and upped version, though I'm assuming you mean for the upped one to create an upped shard.
Unupped creates shards of your mark.
Upped creates shards of the pillar's element.

I'm considering raising the cost of the card to 6 | 4. Thoughts?

Oh gosh my bad. Totally didn't see that the upped one turned it into a shard of the pillar's element.

Yeah, I'd definitely go for a price increase. Right now it's 3 :rainbow for a free pillar destroy of your opponent and a free shard of your element added to your hand. Though to be honest, I think the upped and unupped should be different. I feel the upped version is the one that should give you a shard of your element (More reliability) while the unupped one creates a shard of the pillar's element (More randomness).

The only thing I have against it is that this will make donations kinda...

I know nymphs are rare and nymph's tears compensates for it but it uses a load of water quanta.
And the Nymph Queen makes more Nymph Queens...unless you fix a duo or trio.
Nymphs abilities are alchemy in a creature. More vulnerable. Shards on the other hand are both powerful, instant and unique.

The only thing I have against it is that this will make donations kinda...
Game balance and donations are two seperate things. Zanz can always make more rares.
Even then, Nymph's Tears is cheaper than most nymphs at the cost of an extra card and a duo. Glass Shard forces you to play the card again, which means it costs more overall than the actual shard.
Card Updated:
Cost raised to 6 | 4.
Owner of the pillar now gets the shard in their hand, opening up for hand jamming opportunities if one desires.
Upgraded creates the shard based on the mark, while unupped creates the shard based on the hand. (Effects from the previous version were swapped.)

It's a nice idea, but I don't really want to see this card in the game.
12 SoSa in deck. No really, no.

I don't understand...why i'd wnat to add this card (which costs more than any shard) instead of using directly the shards, and losing a pillare too? Just for having 12 in the deck?

This shard won't be rare, as noted in the notes, i.e. it would be sold in the bazaar.
