First of all, mad props to
Team Death
You guys always create a challenge for us in the deck building phase. We highly respect what the element of Death brings to the table. I have faced Death in multiple rounds. I just checked and it's been 4 out of my 6 rounds in this war. Round 1 vs xn0ize, Round 2 vs Gen. MrBlonde, Round 4 vs agentflare, and now Round 6 vs Jaymanfu. It's almost like I expect to play them anymore
Secondly, I want to thank MatrimKK for bidding on me and believing in me. I have greatly enjoyed War so far and I want to thank all the other people who spoke highly of me in the bidding process and encouraged me to apply for war. This is a great learning process and I'm proud to be on a team of great guys.
Alright, on the results because that's all you probably care about if you're looking at this
Started out with Jaymanfu not getting in on the first match. I apologize for making you wait after that. I had to take a quick phone call (I was at work while playing so it was kind of necessary).
Game 1: Saw Aether mark and instantly I thought a Bonebolt deck. I however started with 3 novas which meant first turn Discord and grabby. I never evolved the grabby in fear of Lightning, but I was suprised that I didn't see the poisons I expected. I did later receive Lightning on a creature once Bone Wall was up. I started holding them and letting Discord and grabbies eat at Bone Wall. He refreshed another Bone Wall and played Fractal. 2 Chaos Seeds, I resulted in a RT and the other I believe was a GP later on in the match. So that slowed down his progress on me. I let him hit away while I tried to file down Bone Wall with my 2 grabbies and my disco. The next turn, I was in range to try a bold move. Dropped my 2 lycans on a 4x Bone Wall played an upped Black Hole. Since 2 lycans and 2 grabbies means 4 hits on Bone Wall, disco would hit through and it did so very nicely. Stifled his ability to put out more recluses or a wall and even scratched all his Aether quanta. Evolved the lycans and played second upped Black Hole to replenish damage lost from recluses and allow me an opportunity to ride scrambles off disco while I rode the damage train to victory. I think he may have done a double lightning on one of my lycans. Only unborrowed grabbies at the very end.
Game 2: Went first and started with a boss quanta draw. 4 novas and 2 qps.....the other 2 cards were lycans. So played lycans right away and they were upped before he even had a chance to try to Lightning them
. I was just trying to put out some brutal damage early before he got up to speed and upping them quickly put them out of Lightning range. I think he had a really bad draw because he never played a Bonewall or even a creature so I guess I EMd that one. I held pretty much everything except lycans and grabbies once I finally drew them. It was stuff like Lightning and deflag, etc.
Game 3 (desync): A lot more balanced draw I guess you could say after the first 2 games. I wasn't really drawing any creatures and when I did it was kind of too late in fear of them just getting Lightning put on them before they could evolve. More or less I was just chipping away with a disco and I had a fog up. He eventually played a recluse and I put it to sleep with a Lightning. Jaymanfu had a really bad quanta draw and I guess was just stuffed for turns because disco kept scrambling. Soon after a desync happened and we beat each other's AI even though I thought I had it in the bag
Standard replay I guess and I apologize again for the delay because I was just clarifying the situation with my team and General.
Game 4: Decent start with respect to quanta and creatures, but no disco and no BH which I thought would come back to haunt me against his great opening-hand quanta draw. BH came around eventually and so did a Discord. A couple scrambles later he used up the majority of his quanta with a Fractal/recluse move. This gave me the opportunity to make a move
Since his maneuver results in a lot of quanta being used, BH would be a nightmare for him. I played my lycans and spirit. He took a chance I guess and took out both lycans and left the spirit. It just so happened I was able to grow spirit out of range before he drew another Lightning. At that point, I think he was just holding them for a final kill. Recluses kept coming out so I played my seeds. One was a PU and another was a GP on recluse. So I had an additional recluse, a grabby burrowed, and a growing spirt. His recluses were doing work on my hp while I was trying to finish off his Bone Wall. Grabby was first so I evolved it so that it would kill the recluse. Drawing the last lycan meant I would get off a scramble via Discord so it was time to utilize BHs. Disco scrambled, BH healed me and saved me just enough from the army of recluses each turn. It also kept him out of range of another Bone Wall which may have made it game. I drew my solo Lightning for the finishing touches
That's all she wrote. Much closer in that last game and best of luck to Team Death as they progress through war. I'll look forward to meeting up again in a much respected matchup
ENROPONIES UNITE!!!!!
