MatrimBot 5000 (v2.0)At long last, I'd like to present to you, the forum, my patented Auto-Matrim5000! Automatically calculates the odds that you would normally handle with guesstimation, trial and error, or begging The Mormegil to do your math homework for you.
Behold:
The Mostly-Harmless Low-Weaponry Pancake-Flipping Carrot-Blending Auto-Matrim5000 (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AlCkkeUwgmZ3dG15b2g5dnp2d0laNTFGczg0Qzk1Q2c&hl=en_US&authkey=CN2W7vYM)Thanks to:
Kirch for notifying me that Matrim can calculate these sorts of numbers!
Matrim for constant collaboration and fixing my egregious math errors!
The Mormegil for confirming my guesses as to exactly how 0-cost cards are affected by Mulligans!
Jen-i for adding a Deck Decompiler!
How do I use it?This is a tool for deckbuilding. The first sheet offers side-by-side comparisons to help you quickly estimate how many pillars, pendulums, or other quanta sources you'll need in your deck in order to reliably start with at least 1. (Coming soon - numbers for drawing "at least 2")
The second sheet is the power user's tool. Input the total size of your deck, then the number of ALL zero-cost cards in your deck, and finally the number of 0-cost cards that generate quanta. For most decks, these last 2 numbers will be the same. The sheet will spit out:
- how likely it is your deck will not draw a 0-cost card, requiring a Mulligan
- how likely it is you won't succeed even after a Mulligan
- how likely it is for you to start with at least one 0-cost card in your hand
- how likely it is you'll start with a quanta-generating card
Finally, it shows you side-by-side numbers on how likely it is you'll start with 1 copy of a given card that costs more than one quanta. Smaller decks can often get away with only having 4 or 5 copies of a key card and still draw it on turn 1 or shortly thereafter - this section shows you how likely that is.
What are the risks of using the Auto-Matrim5000?In clinical studies, MatrimBot has only devoured 0.2% of all human babies in a testing environment. Better yet, MatrimBot's frequency of "laser beam oopsies" goes down by a large margin each time his firmware is updated!
FAQ and ExamplesMight come later if that really seems necessary.
Questions, comments, and suggestions welcome.
