Well I'll be the first to say I think this is a very cool and visibly well-thought out card idea.
Thanks
I like the spider theme, however, I don't like completely replacing Fate Egg.
The whole idea is indeed to keep Fate Egg in game but to make it produce more controlled creature. The present Fate Egg is extremely RNG dependant and this is not very compatible with the way time (as an element) works. Make it produce only Time spiders with various abilities was the way I found to do so.
Concerning the spider theme: I wanted a creature which hatch out of eggs, exist in various form and is cool. I first though of ants but I already made a Time Ant (
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,23362.0.html). Scarabs are also already in game so ...
I also think it is odd that all of the spiders are in Time.
Flesh Spider|Recluse and Phase Spider|Recluse aren't. But if your argument is that you find odd that all the spider produced by the egg are time creatures then it is the main idea here. With the present form of fate egg, it would be great if you could rewind the newly spawn creature back in the egg (to hatch it again) if you don't like it. However, you cannot because the game has no mean to know if the creature is genuine or hatched. The trick with creating the Fate Spider is that now, you can do that.
Also, you say Fate Spider/Destiny Spider aren't standalone's, well then how do you obtain them? (or, is it not even a card in the game, but just a generic "template" that all of the other kinds of Spiders follow?)
Fate|Destiny Spider are only made to be hatched out of the Fate|Destiny Egg. They do not exist as a standalone card because the whole idea is to transform the Fate Egg mechanic into a more playable one.
