Essence's PlatDeck Compendium

Figured I'd just throw up my more successful Platinum League decks in a thread.  I'm not going to try to reconstruct my old ones, so we'll just start from today and go forward.  Here's what I have up right now:



No deckcodes, without the Import/Export button it's too much of a pain, so I'm using printscreen instead.  Piss off.

I'm incredibly annoyed at the RNG; I got a whopping 8 plays in 24 hours, and I'm convinced that that's the only reason this deck isn't Top 10 right now.




Tomorrow the HP will be so low that it'll start accruing massive losses, so today's failure to get played is what cost me a chance at stardom.  Oh, well.

[Edit]Turns out tomorrow wasn't so bad after all.   I guess the denial is too strong for some people even at only 126 HP:

It seems pretty common for me not to get much games the first day or two as well. I'm over a day and a half in and I've only had 18 games played—all wins

I don't think it's possible to get in t10 without being up at least 4 or 5 days to get enough games in. But that's when the real difficulty comes in keeping up rating, like you said, because of diminishing HP.

Me too.  I've had an air rush deck up for 2 days, it's got 19 wins and 1 loss, ranking it at 100.  Shouldn't winning 95% of your matches count for something?  And shouldn't it get more than 10 plays a day?  These are concerns I voiced while Arena was in beta.  Maybe people aren't playing it now that the novelty has worn off? Or is it true that the higher ranked decks get played more?  I don't know.  But the Ranking algorithm should take age into consideration.  And kicking decks through reduced HP is just silly.  Decks should simply be booted after some threshold (days? number of games? number of losses? some combination?).
 
Oh, and it would be nice to see a leaderboard.  Are the same people putting up the top ranked decks?

Yup, I think submitting on Friday counts for quite a lot if you want to get rank 1. 48 hours in and my deck is only 24-0.

iam on day 3 with 37wins and 1lost my rank is 33.
recently came in platinum from gold, got alot more games under my belt on the 3rd day in gold.
by the way essence iam a big fan of your post jmz classic deck its good for farming plat, gold and ofcourse silver 8)

Either way, Blackhole decks seem to do very well! Same goes for cards like Earthquake, Antimatter, Steal and Explosion

I'd like to keep this one for my decks, thanks. I understand there are a few people starting their own, though, so you won't be weird if you do the same.

OP updated with another nights' worth of games; rank 12 now!  I might just break top 10 after all!

Time for a new deck!



This time, I took some inspiration from Graviton and added what I'm starting to think of as "Generic Arena Fire Control" -- 5~6 Explosions, 2 RoFs, 2 Fire Nymphs.  I wanted max HP and I realized quickly that I didn't need the x3 mark, so I didn't use it and went for max HP instead. 

So far, so good:

BTW, I tried that deck of yours.  Won me a rarespin off platinum in less than 5 minutes.  It's a killer.   You really should post it in one of those 'decks to kill Platinum with' threads.

With the old deck starting to loose rank, and having spun a GotP, I decided to retire the Graviton-wannabe and declare it's peak at #12.  Sad it didn't make top 10, but that's all good.

Next deck is a recreation of my first-ever Arena deck:



By adding 12 Pests to the typical Nightmare/GotP scenario, this deck brings a level of additional denial that can really put a crimp on your style.   A pair of Steals won't hurt either, and the dozen Rewinds, well, they're just mean.


Got my first loss kind of early, within the first 10 games:


Between that and Oracling up an EntPend, I'm thinking I might switch out on Day 1.

Yup, I did.  I couldn't resist putting up a variant of Little Miss Fire.



I'll be happy to watch what happens with this one.










Even with only 72 HP, it still dominates many decks with it's pure carnal speed.
