My first attempt at Religions in the game.

Death: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=2870.0 (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=2870.0)

Unupgraded

Upgrade

These are the new cards

As you can see these Shields have abilites so will have to be balanced with whatever deck you are using.

Thanks again to all the constructive and useful advice that has been given to me.

me like. tho its effect is a little too cheap. make it 3 instead of just 2. virtualy infinite blessings is a little too vicious for this game.

I don't see how it's a shield O.o It should be just a regular permanent. Or make it block some damage too. But all in all, seems almost a bit too OP, but not much.

Thanks, both of you.

I had considered making it cost 3 light at first but thought it may be too much like the blessing card so trimmed it but I see your point.

I don't see how it's a shield O.o It should be just a regular permanent. Or make it block some damage too. But all in all, seems almost a bit too OP, but not much.
I think that it will be better to raise the cost of Bless for both cards this would make it less OP. The idea behind the card was it increases your creatures ability to absorb damage and lay damage done in a similar way to Eclipse/Nightfall although with an ability.

If I added absorb spells onto this card would that make it more shield like?

I appreciate both what you have said and will add to the file on these cards today so they may be better made in the future

Thankyou

Scyther

Edit: I have remade the cards with an absorb ability.

What does the absorbing do? Makes the spells hit you? Negates their effects?

Too strong in the second option. The first option, though... well, sounds okay, although being hit by a RoF with all parts on you is pretty painful.

The costs on Blessings seem okay, especially that you can have only one of them out there at once, and the mass boost cost... well, Eclipse is cheaper, so the fact it gives to all creatures is sort of blanced, too.

Yes I should clarify the absorb, it basically takes all spell damage that would usually hit your creatures or poison etc and vapourises it therefore while this card is in play no creature spell affecting cards can be played by your opponent (includes mutate, poison, RoF, Thunderstorm, lightening the list goes on).

As to the upgrade I have thought about that and maybe a +2|+1 is better than what is there now.

Thankyou for your advice and words of wisdom.

So an infinite source of blessings given that you have the quantum, an additional +1/+1 to all creatures, AND makes all your creatures immune to spells?

What are you, NUTS?!  That is vastly overpowered.  I mean, seriously!

OH! It's a picture of a creaturey thing, but the card is a shield. It makes sense that something has to be giving out those blessings. Any reason why it is a fire priestess or if there will be other elemental clergypeople?

Not really any reason but the Upgraded Pic looked like a Goddess so I had to think of something to make her fit within the genre so went with priestess.

I figured that we could have shields that can do stuff and the best way was with Priests etc so thought I should try to add it in if I could.

Thanks

Me:

Ok so yes it may be nuts to suggest a Goddess is too powerful but hey why not, seriously taken this game wouldn't be half as much fun and anyway its to have a good time that I do this.

Maybe your creatures should be only immune to playable spell cards not creatures with spell abilities (remembering they are still suspectable to devour) but thats just a balance tweak and one I would happily do if people were willing to talk more freely about their ideas rather than using terms of common usage.

As to why am I nuts, well hey its a Goddess card, it should be nuts. If it wasn;t it wouldn't live up to the title but yes it may be slightly OP at times but as a rare card would be of great benefit to a light/fire deck although you would have to enchant her pretty quickly as steals would be happening the moment she hits the ground.

Anyway enough said hope you have a great day.

I'm going to assume these are rare card proposals---possibly EXTREMELY rare cards.

Fire is a popular monodeck, so you're proposing a way to add light for a decent duo/tri-deck.  Not sure which benefits more, the light creatures (pegasus 3/2 become 4/3 or 5/3 with dive before blessings added!) or fire creatures (fire dragon goes from 12/3 otyugh food to 13/4 or 15/5 before blessings!)  Hell, a rainbow deck can add infinite blessings for the opportunity cost of 6-8 :fire !

I think you want the card to say something about Fire priestess "negates" spells instead of absorbs to reduce confusion.  That's a pretty strong effect, but I imagine there will be other goddesses/religion cards to help balance the decks.  If not, you are making deflag/steal even more necessary if you ever want to use RoF, plague, mutation, antimatter....
Bring back Holy Cow!

Yes these will be extremely rare cards and it has even been discussed that they can only be upgraded with a rare token as well.

I agree that negates is proably better terminology unfortunately my strong suit is not in getting the written text right but the idea behind the card.

Yes there are Religion cards for every Element coming so far I have done Death, Fire and Life so will be looking into the others shortly.

Thanks

Scyther
