ART:
Scorpion card image, reworked by Thalas
IDEA:
Malebolgia
NOTES:
Airborne.  Chance: 2X%, X is poison counter.

New effect, and I think I like it.  Probably the best I can think of.  This was the most awkward element to think of.

"Attackers" includes both creatures and weapons.Does not stack with Fog Shield (The idea behind this), it is calculated separately.Replaces other types of special poison, and is signified by a light blue :death with the appropriate poison counter."Cause poisoning if ingested." should be on the card, but could not fit due to space constraints. Can be countered by Momentum and Purify.

It's kinda OP with the fact it is better than scorpion in terms of poison, but UP in terms of cost for 1/2 extra poison per turn (50% chance of extra). But I think this isn't a mechanic leaning towards air, except the airborne part. But also no reall way you can take a scorpion to the mechanics of air. I really have no idea what to think of this card.

When you said poison in the air I thought of Aerosols and CFCs...
Hmm... I can't think of a very good way to expand that, but my thought was that it could have a 20% chance to inflict poison to creatures on correct hit

Another mechanic I thought of would be inflict triple poison if skyblitzed...

If you can't think of a cool, new mechanic like Neurotoxin for Air, then you might as well not make an Air scorpion.

You could make Dive an active ability that doubles venom power?

Flying scorpion sound seem ... a bit out of place. I mean, do you imagine what a winged scorpion would look like? Wouldn't it be a bit awkward?  I would rather suggest a blowing scorpion (like the snakes). For the ability, you can have a look at this: Forester Blowgun | Amazonian Blowgun (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,26761.0.html)

I agree. Since it's an air elemental I think it should involve some sort of spraying the poison. What would you say to:

1 :death Contaminate: Creatures brought into play during the next round will be poisoned.

And that could include not only creatures played from hand but also "brough into play" by means of Boneyard, Aflatoxin, Fireflies, Scarabs etc.

For one, just to keep the trend of Air going, I think it should be an airborne creature.  Also Thalas has made a picture that looks pretty good with its wings, so how it looks shouldn't be an issue.  The effect still escapes me as to what it should be.  It will definitely involve adding poison damage to the opponent, but the unique effect should involve forcing a condition upon the opponent based on the poison counter; the capability of the venom, triggered by certain circumstances (like Dune Scorpion), or constant effect like as is; or a passive skill.  A blowing scorpion might actually be a good idea though.

Just the passive of airborne seems a little soft, compared to auto-burrow of the Earth one; since it only refers to other Air cards, and I think the Warden.

I repeat myself but I find the idea of a flying scorpion weird. It doesn't fit IMO. The art is pretty but only adds to the oddity of the beast. I also do not picture a scorpion using a cloud of poison. Really, an airborne creature spitting an eyes burning poison isn't a bad idea in itself. It is just not a scorpion ...

The foggy poison is kind of interesting. Some remarks
Attackers have a chance to miss. Does it means all creatures or only the player (weapon)? Does the foggy effect adds to fog shield? Fog shield is 40% (if I remember correctly). (100-40)/2 = 30. At 30 poison you are invincible? How would you know if you are infected with neurotoxin, curare (

Wouldn't a flying scorpion be, well, a wasp?

Both.  Attackers was just a way to downsize the text, sorry about that. (This however was already in the notes). It does not stack directly with Fog Shield.  So at 30 poison, your creature has .60*.40, or .24 chance to hit as they are taken separately.  Also the poison fog ignores momentum, due to it being a poison effect, not a direct shield.Mentioned in the series notes on the series page, only one type is active and is signified by the elements corresponding color of the poison icon, in this case light blue.  Your curare might be green, and neurotoxin the current yellow.
Stuff edited to notes.

Wouldn't a flying scorpion be, well, a wasp?
Eh, I suppose, but isn't a wasp almost impotent, aside from allergies?
