I would appreciate if we keep all our deck-building and salvaging discussion in THIS topic.
Final decks and salvage/discards will go in their own respective topics, but it's best to keep the discussion in one place.

This is mainly to give us a better idea of who to use the Event Card against this round (and in which order we want to play our duels), but it's interesting nonetheless:

The most obvious choices for early matches would be :death and :life since they have very low vaults (low to nonexistent element of surprise) and few cards remaining in their current vaults.  Water and Earth also have very few extra cards, but I'm pretty sure they'll use the Event card against us since we're in the lead :)

Fire and Underworld are possibly going to benefit from this card the most since they have random cards which go in almost any deck they can field.

This is interesting:
Let's say a 36-card deck has exactly 50% in-element cards. Is it permitted to remove enough of them as part of the event card's effect so that the remaining 30 or so cards would not be a legal deck?
Yes. The Deck only needs be legal in its full state.

Looks like UT pulled the short straw again. This is a pretty interesting event, you know how we always seem to have that one pesky deck we can't counter? Now we can deal with that. To a degree, so can other teams, but I like to think of our deck base as pretty diverse.

Dropping off the mummytal/bonebolt shapeshift idea for now.
Concept:
-3 mummy -3 fractal is classic bonebolt with endgame mummytal if necessary
-5 poison -1 lightning is a slow mummytal.

Theorycrafting against earth:

Earth has only 5 decks left, one of which is mildly enhanced by their salvages. The five decks:
2 RT decks with all the earth cards like pillars dragons grabs EQs and SS.
1 Novagrabbow
1 Immortal
1 Gravity Duo
Apart from EQs, they boast very little PC. I can counter most of their damage sources with dim shield. The momentum stone dragon is a bit of an issue, but I'll get to that later.
Their only CC consists of RTs and BBs.
I want to use a sancstall to outdo them. One issue with this is that RT essentially makes their deck 6 cards larger, but I've noticed that even an RT Sanc hybrid is only effectively 40 cards. I can make a working stall (I think) and discard down to 7+their first game deck size. I would err on the side of a fatter deck which may be troublesome, so I'll need a lot of testing.
Novagrabby: The only deck that uses PC against my dims is the novagrabby and by convention that deck should be pretty small. The sancs should cover most damage until I can lightning their creatures. They should only pack 2 deflags in a nova deck.
RT: No PC means my dims keep me safe. A healthy amount of pends should keep the healing flowing.
Immortal: My deck just needs to be bigger.
Gravity duo: Lightnings beat chargers, sancs should be able to heal at the same rate as momentum stone dragon.

Bed time. Testing tomorrow. Thoughts are welcomed.

EDIT: I must've been tired, earthquakes are going to make the pends miserable. BAH also didn't see the pulverizers in the gravity duo. Duh.

Alright. Earth has five matches this round:
:aether :fire :water :entropy :life
I'm trying to figure out what they'll send where. RT Grabbies worked against water last round, so it's reasonable to think they'd send that again. The other RT Grabby deck should go to fire, grabbies will hack away at bonewall and RT will help stall against phoenixes and golems.

That leaves an immortal, gravy duo, and novagrabby for us entropy and life.
Life has a poison deck, a firebolt deck, and an EQ novagrabby. Earth won't send the immortal here.
The gravity deck is best suited to the teams that have lots of permanents and shields. Entropy and Life don't have many shields left in their decks. Entropy has a couple fog shields but those are just splashed inside novagrabbies. I really think they will be sending the gravity duo my way. Now to find a suitable deck against it that doesn't completely die to their other choices.

Looking at UW's matchups, their other 3 matches are against the bottom 3 teams (each a general). So, I have a feeling they are going to bring their best deck against me, which is their immonova bow. Seeing as how this is one of our lower priority matches, I probably won't be able to bring a deck that is effective against all of their decks. In my preliminary testing, RT GotPU seems to be very effective against their immonova deck and quinted growthbow, but completely fails against their quinted CC stall. The only thing I can think of that might be able to beat all their decks is arsendial, but the event card +6 could make it more difficult than usual, and I have a feeling we will need the lightnings and novas elsewhere.

Regardless, it would be nice if we could finalize some of our decks tonight. So that we are not scrambling tomorrow night.

Also, imo, frogtal is completely useless. I recommend converting the life pends, frogs, and heals.
