Svenn is still on vacation and will be back on Thursday, but mrpaper also has a previously planned function going on, so to ensure the match gets played in time fairly, I decided to sub for Svenn because he was available the lesser of the two.

Game 1I saw a
mark and knew the deck had to be a mono. I was exceedingly glad I womanhandled majofa into switching the decks for our
and :toberevealed opponents within SECONDS before the time ran out. I had 6 Rage Potions, which I figured would be enough to deal with a host of Darkness threats. Chiefly Vampiric Dragons. I started of with a 1 Nova hand and had to discard. I foolishly discarded 1/2 Deflags. *facewhale* 2 turns later Dusk Mantle hits the field and I no longer have the insurance to play Arsenic. I fear Drain Lifes, so while he's at 10+ darkness, I keep my lone Graboid unevolved as I play another. Dragon comes out, easy pickin's for Rage Potion, I decide to risk evolving AND playing Arsenic, while deflagging Dusk. Arsenic is promptly stolen, but no harm comes to my Shriekers. I keep them out for a while, but burrow them again once the magic 10 quanta mark is hit. It IS a mono... there is a high likelyhood of both Shriekers having their very life force sucked out of them. After I Rage a Vampiric Dragon, I basically stay hidden behind burrowed creatures while he Drains my life to stay alive, but in the end, I come out with 5 hp, and 5 poison on me. Very, VERY close game.
Game 2This game I started off with a little bit better hand. 2 Novas allowed for a quick rush of a Graboid, a 1 of each Spirit on turn 2. The Fire Spirit is left unharmed while the Forest Spirit is poisoned with the gift of a vampire. Due to much more quanta this time, I keep my Graboid burrowed again, and continue ablazing the Spirit and play another Graboid while waiting. In the meantime another Dragon meets Rage Potion. His hand gets down to 1 card, so I Evolve both and hope for the best (a deflagged Mantle happened somewhere in here...) 1 gets drained of life, the other hides again. But now that he has ZERO cards in his hand, I play Arsenic knowing full well that it's up to RNG to decide where it stays. I draw a Deflag 2 turns later. End game came down to me playing a Lycan, and Unburrowing the Shrieker while forgeting I don't have enough
to evolve my other Graboid. So now I'm kind of in a lurch. He Drain Lifes the Shrieker, I use the Lycans ability and Rage it, turning it into an 11/1 Bomb, which brings him just low enough for the 7 poison counters to finish him off whether he kills off the Lycan, or uses it to gain health. I prayed he didn't have 2 of them, and my prayers were answered.
gg's mrpaper. You made me fight for those wins. Best of luck to Team
in the future.
