Monoliths received a poor reception in the crucible.

I agree. But apparently my versions were not good enough.

i actually missed this the first time around, and like the idea of a pillar with a very weak/situational ability (either when it comes into play or throughout its existence), but i think the key would be keeping the abilities very weak- this card giving out a free burrowed creature may be a bit much.  and then again, voters rarely vote for cards balanced at the 'weak' end of the scale, so submission to the crucible i agree would probably be a wasted effort.

alternatively you could just do a revamp of sorts and have a 'series' (using the term loosely) where you pay for a pillar/pend/tower but it produces more than 1 quanta per turn.  basically it requires some start-up cost, but benefits you more than a free one.  just a thought.
moose dont say moo.

This would have good synergy with fire. Lots of fire rush decks use lava destroyer. Playing 1 destroyer and 1 monolith in 1 turn can help the burrow and protect the destroyer until the next turn when it can grow bigger. Plus, it generates  :earth required for growth. I also see potential for a deck in the future that uses both seraphs and destroyers. Monolith protect seraphs for the crucial 1 turn before divine shield, and :earth for destroyers.

Also OldsTrees the link to the serie is broken.

@moomoose : I find the burrow for one turn pretty situationnal though no ? I think it's weak enough (notice that the card have a cost compared to a pillar/tower)

I also already made a  Death Monolith (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,23256.msg500768/topicseen#msg500768).

If people are intrested we can easily make 12 monoliths, one for each element. As I tol it looks very interesting for the game.

I think a series like this is exactly something the game needs.  I'd had my own ideas for a series like this, but a few people have already done somethings similar, like this monolith series.

Amen to that!  I always used to tell people that your lands won or lost you the game :p  Dual lands forever!  (the real beta ones, not the stupid later ones)
