This is for the Card Designer Challenge : It All Floods Over. (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,22850.0.html)
NAME:
Close Combat
ELEMENT:
Fire
COST:
:fire
TYPE:
Permanent
ATK|HP:
TEXT:
Creatures in the row closest to the opponent deal twice as much damage.
NAME:
Close Combat
ELEMENT:
Fire
COST:
:fire
TYPE:
Permanent
ATK|HP:
TEXT:
Creatures in the row closest to the opponent deal twice as much damage.
ART:
None yet. :D
IDEA:
TuckingFypo, will give credit if needed.
NOTES:
This card is meant to buff Flooding by encouraging the use of creature spam.  If creature spam becomes more common, Flooding will become indirectly buffed.

Possible deck:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5bu 5bu 5bu 5bu 5c6 5c6 5c6 5c9 5c9 5c9 5c9 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5f2 5f2 5f2 5f2 8po 8po 8po
I'm not the best deck builder, but this is just an idea.  4 of the ???'s are Mitosis's, 3 of them are Close Combat's.  Use 2 or 3 Mitosis's on the frogs, then spawn them till you reach the last row, where you mitosis/spam Crimson Dragons.  This deck is countered by Flooding, because you'll lose a giant chunk of your firepower.

TII, at least be polite. I'm begining to get tired of the lack of respect on the forums lately.

TuckingFypo, nice work with the indirect synergy there, and I find it also interesting that you decided to forgo any direct synergy with Flooding and instead work on something Flooding could counter.

....Not sure if this would have widespread use in the metagame though, but I'll see what others think.

Don't forget to link your card in the Challenge Thread!   :)

my comment was meant to be a compliment...
what I meant is that this card is good for both buffing inundation AND FFQ at the same time...
sry if the meaning isn't clear...

It's a work in progress.  I like the concept, new and innovative.  I'd reduce the cost however, since it won't be used with such a high cost.  Improves synergy.. Nice idea!

Need any art?

Thank you! Yes, I'd like some art for this please.  I can't really specify what I'd like for this card, though.  I'll add the art along with the new cost.  I don't have anything to compare to to determine the new cost, but is 5 | 3 better?

5|3 'd be more efficient. 7|5 is too much. And I'll make the art. C:
EDIT: Need specifics on what to make however.

Mmm, how about a mob of creatures on fire, rushing from left to right?  For creatures to draw, I'd like phoenix'es (I really have no idea >.<), but if you find it easier to draw something else that'd work too. :P  And thanks in advance!

Question:
I don't understand the card and the card name..

All I can think of is 'Lucario, go! Use Close Combat!"

Haha, I guess I can't say I know exactly what it is either, which is why I couldn't be specific about the art.  The name of the idea/card was supposed to represent and boost close up fighters, the creatures in the front row.  The idea sprang up in my mind because in most games, melee range fighters are supposed to be stronger than long range fighters.  For example, in Pokemon, Close Combat is a decently powerful move.

I guess the name "Close Combat" doesn't really fit, but I do think the name implies what its effect would be.  I'd gladly change the name though if it made the art any easier for you.
