Element Breakdown: Darkness

  Meh, EmeraldTiger asked me to do a full view into this thing.

Darkness' Physical properties:
Absence
Disablement of Sight
Span of Nonexistence in any celestial body
The plane on which the universe lies (Void, though BloodShadow would argue that the Void and Darkness are 2 separate things, I disagree)

Darkness' Ideological properties:
Inherent selfishness; The need to look out for oneself given almost all circumstances
Manipulation; The ability to use resources as a counterweight to benefit oneself while causing the person opposing to deteriorate in strength

MY interpretation:
Darkness represents balance. As it is, in purest form, nonexistence (The properties of Absence having no physical form), and this universe lies on a plane of nonexistence (if you took the universe out, there would just be a Void, "filled" with Darkness).
Darkness is balance because no matter what, Darkness in physical form cannot overwhelm substance. It merely is a placeholder when substance is absent.

I personally don't have much connection with Darkness so it is very hard for me to define.
The only thing I can think of is Shadow and Blindness.

Stealth, and the ability to hide in plain sight. To simply walk over the world without getting noticed by others.

Darkness is the night. It has dominion over the denizens of the night. I think of Darkness as the element of parasitism. Darkness uses this core to focus on vampirism (Drain Life, Minor Vampire, Liquid Shadow, Vampire Stiletto and Black Nymph), resource theft (Pest and Improved Steal) and reflecting the opponent’s strength (Improve Steal and Voodoo Doll).
Leeching and manipulation. Gaining something from their opponent, be it quanta, permanent, or health. Manipulations of the field and player (steals, quanta leeching, nightmare, voodoo doll).

To me, Darkness is kind of jack of all trades, master of none.
They have all the trumps: steals and voodoo combos are annoying, pests ruin your perfect QI, dagger/vampire/siphon/LS to heal past your damage potential, gargoyle as a WTFSOMUCHHP creature, a decent dragon for attack, hax shields are annoying, LS/bloodsuckers/siphon as some decent cc, nightmare for draw denial, and then add an eclipse or cloak to everything.

Steal(stealing permanents), eclipse/cloak(mass creature buff), and pests(direct quanta denial) are things that only Darkness has...I find that all the decks I have ever made have at least one Mono-Darkness counter because of how versatile its card-pool is.
