18 Card UG Deck https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=21427.msg274014#msg274014
« on: February 19, 2011, 06:31:51 pm »
I built this back during War 2.  It's a fun UG deck.  It's got several weaknesses due to it's focus, but it catches people off guard often.

I decided to see how much better an upped version was.  It's nothing amazing with a ttw of ~9 after a handful of games.  Still, that's pretty fast for a UG only deck.

It's crazy awesome when you spam like 5 or 6 Sundials and Precogs all at once.   :P

You know what this deck needs?
1 silence.
That way you can hold your gasses in your hand, and play all 5 at once together with the silence so that they can't steal or deflag them.

Great deck, I like it.

Also, with this deck (the unupped version) I save my sundials until I'm at least half dead.  That makes them last longer - you don't want to waste a sundial early in the game when they are only dealing you 6 damage.  Usually, once I start chaining sundials this way, they last the rest of the game.  Use caution however in case they have a strong weapon, poison, or a deflag for your sundial.

Well resign if they use more than one.  I've been playing this unupped PvP so I don't have to worry about that.

Devourers/black hole, however, will end this deck immediately.  The deck only has 6 fire quanta from novas and it needs 5 of those to win.

I wonder if 1 Hourglass would help this deck or not.  I think it would - as long as you use it at least twice, it's better than a precog.  You usually have the time quanta to spare by the time you get all your gasses.

Here's the version I'm currently using:

maybe sanctuary can counter quanta draining but then you can't use sundail's skill anymore

Nope, sanctuary is way to expensive.

Those look like some decent changes. I like the idea of Silence which is a great unupped replacement for Cloak. As for the Hourglass, it's a crapshoot. If they have any kind of PC, then it's a wasted card space. But like you said, if you get to use it twice then you're getting more bang for the buck. Also, there's a good chance they might waste their PC on the Sundials instead which would be great for the deck (though maybe not for your HP).
