This is a minor issue, but I don't think the virus card should be sacrificed (destroyed) until after a target is selected.  If you choose to sacrifice a virus currently and click cancel, you simply lose your creature.

It's your fault for clicking too fast. It happens to all creatures, they lose their abilities. Virus needs to die to use its ability, so it's not that different.

You're not really canceling anything if the sacrifice takes place though.  By that same logic, do you use quantum every time you use an ability and click cancel on a creature too?  Should your cards be discarded if you, for example, use 3 darkness quantum to cast drain life and then press cancel?  I don't understand what you're trying to say.

Actually yes. If you use any ability and then press cancel, you do not gain your quanta back sort of as a pentaly for clicking too fast and not thinking first.

Canceling a creature ability doesn't refund the cost for that ability. As sacrifice is part of Virus' cost, canceling the ability does not return it to the playing field. This is the how it works and always has, and is intended. I have seen this feature requested enough times, so I have added it to the Common Feature Requests thread.

I think this can be even good as sometimes you need to sacrifice a virus (6 vultures on field and a bonewall) when there are no enemy creatures
