More dmg for the fireshield https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=3108.msg26569#msg26569

As of now, the only thing that I know off that dmg's burrowed and immortal creatures is the fire shield. Sadly enough this shield will only do one dmg, making it take a lot of dmg before it will actually kill a burrowed/immortal creature. With Quintessence becoming insanely popular, one way to counter this would be making the fire shield do more dmg, possibly 2 or even 3 (although if it goes up to 3 dmg I would suggest making the dmg random: the shield will dmg every attacking creature for a random amount between 1 and 3) This way you will always have a decent counter to these immortal creatures that doesnt require you to get your ass kicked.

The other option would be making the fire shield actually block dmg, maybe even 2 dmg (like permafrost) cause currently it has no other use then dmg'ing attackers making it not that useful in comparison to other creatures

I think it is fine than it is. An early fireshield can hit you very hard.
There are many creatures with less hp and when you have adrenalined monser a fireshield is even more dangerous.

ofcourse I just open this for debate :)
but getting a fireshield in early is indeed deadly, but not always that easy :)

Fire Shield is very powerful; making it deal 2 damage per round is EXTREMELY overpowered.

Think about it this way. The Rain of Fire card costs 7 unupped, 5 upped. The Shield costs 5 unupped, 4 upped.

If the shield dealt 2 damages per turn, in 3 turns, it is equivalent to playing 2 Rain of Fires.

The quanta used by the Shield = 5 fire quanta. If the shield got exploded, placing another one takes the quanta cost up to 10.
The quanta used by the 2 RoFs = 14 Quanta.

This is very obviously unbalanced. Upgraded, the stats are:

Shield = 4 or 8 :fire
Fire Storms = 10 :fire ... still a bad balance.

The Fire Shield by itself is still a very strong investment. It completely DESTROYS any fire deck with its weak HP creatures.

It destroys a fire deck if and only if you get it out in the first few turns, which would require you drawing it in the first turns or your starter hand. + only if you get the necessary quants. Seeing as how most of these firedecks have an explode or 2 the only way to keep the dmg of the shield going is to have an enchant artifact ready as well. So in stopping fire decks it's highly situational, in stopping immortals for example phase dragons you'll be taking over 50 dmg before it's dead.

what if the damage done to the creature is based on the damage the creature does?
would seem kinda logical to me ...

Maybe it could be related to creatures size? The bigger you are, the more flames hit you ;)
It could for example deal damage equal to 1/3 creatures base hp (eventually capped - at least 1, at most 3)
May the force of the D4HK side be with U ^_^
