First off, I applaud Acsabi44 for sticking with the matches. We had an incredible number of desyncs.
Second, this deck was a deck I threw out for team discussion early on when I thought about what aether would use against fire. Fire is very quick and has lots of options as a mono, aether is not. Today it worked, that's all I can say.
Winning deck:
5lf 5lf 5lf 5lf 5lf 5lf 5lh 5li 61o 61o 61r 61r 61r 61r 620 620 620 620 620 620 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a
Game 1: desync right away
Game 2: Aether wins coin flip, decent number of pendula and 1 pillar. I think he wasn't sure what a light-based deck was doing with aether. Fire shield couldn't keep up with blessings, and Fahrenheit hadn't heated up yet, so it was an easy win.
Game 3: Aether won coin flip, 2 pillar/3 pendula played. desync a turn or 2 later
Game 4: Fire won flip, 4 pillar/2 pendula played turn 1. desync 2 turns later
Game 5: Fire won flip, 4 pillars/1 pendula turn 1. Desync midgame, and I easily beat the AI. Still, taking this victory didn't seem fair to me given all we had been through so far.
Found new internet connection and tried a new browser:
Game 6: Aether wins flip, but only 1 pendula for 4 turns. Fire plays 4 pillars/2 pendula turn 1, fahrenheit turn 2 and wins easily (bolts me to put me out of my misery.)
Game 7: Fire wins flip, but only 1 pendula. Aether had a so-so start (maybe 2 pendula). He bolts early spider, but aether able to get a second spider out and blessed. He makes it interesting midgame by taking down 13/10 spiders x2 with bolts and fire shield in place. With no blessings in sight and a couple of spiders in hand, he had ~36 hp left. Morning star finally shows up and miracle pulls me from ~10 hp to 99, able to PU the remaining spiders to squeak out a win.
GREAT GAMES, Acsabi44!!!!
