NOTES:
this is for the "Another Epic 3 Card Design Challenge" competition.  -and possibly for level 1 consideration afterward

The random skill: The skill that can be obtained can be any skill with a cost to use.  For example: dive, lobotomize or grow.  But will not include effects such as momentum, vampire, gravity pull or immaterial.

The random elite life creature: It can be any creature in the life deck, anything from leaf dragons (edit- changed from rustlers to help remove confusion) to nymphs and dragons.  The creature will have a random skill as mentioned above, in lieu of its original skill if applicable.

I believe most of us should be familiar with the theory of evolution.  The theory of abiogenesis however may be new to those of us who were not biology majors in college.  Abiogenesis is the theory that life on earth arose from non-living material.  The prevailing contemporary theory is that RNA was the first compound to be considered "alive" as it was able to catalyze its own reactions and store its own information (similarly to DNA), which would enable it to self-replicate (and evolve over time).  However, at times throughout history there have been philosophers who believed that organisms could spawn from rocks or other non-living material spontaneously.  This is the basis for this card's mechanism.

Digging the concept, art and numbers, but I wonder if for the upgraded version, do all life creatures have an equal chance (%) of being created?

(Btw, rustler's skill, photosynthesis, with life cost... = oh... ^^)

rustler (or leaf dragon in this case) if selected would not be guaranteed to have that ability.  it would be a random chance that it could have that ability.  but i think it would have to be treated similarly to when you put SoR on it, which makes it only work once per turn.

as far as chance to get each one, equal chance seems about right, as life has about an equal split of small creatures (scorpion, leaf dragon, forest spectre) as moderate/bigger ones (frog, cockatrice, dragon, nymph).  keep in mind only the ATK|HP from the creatures is of concern, not initial skills as they do not carry over.

hmm should i rename these cards and drop the "theory of" to be just evolution and abiogenesis, respectively? i added theory of to better match the required artwork.

So, this is like mini-improve/mutate for life?  Hm, not sure if I like that or not.  It's a nice idea, but a bit redundant.

I really like the Abiogenesis idea, though.  Some card ideas really just 'click' with me, and this is one of them.  c:  I love the idea of a life pillar generating a creature!  However, the random skill doesn't really make sense here, like it does with Evolution -- but without that, it's simply a more sensible and severely limited version of Fate Egg...

(What if Abiogenesis was applicable to any pillar, generating a creature from that pillar's element?)

Again, I'm only worried that this is a bit redundant.  We have mutate/improve and Fallen druid/elf.  Do we need another, more restrictive version of essentially the same thing?  I'm on the fence...

edit: Also, yes, I think you should definitely drop the 'theory of', and leave it as simply 'Evolution' and 'Abiogenesis'.  (:

Well it's basically like nymph's tears and mutate in one card. I think the skill list would have to be the same as the one for mutations, though an ability like that of FFQs/Pharaohs would be good for life.

with evolution it is limited to the subset of creatures it can work on and it doesnt alter their atk|hp, element or anything other than their skill and keeps it mono.  so while it is definitely similar, i dont think it is redundant

and as far as being nymphs/mut in the same card eeeeh... yeah i can see where youre going with that, but nymphs are special/rare and you know what youre getting.  as far as a creature with a skill coming from it, if it didnt it would be a worse card than evolution and not as interesting. oh and the reason i didnt want it to be a creature from the element of the pillar/pend is some elements would probably be OP-ish, especially if it kept the ability, which is what i wanted.  for example you would have a decent chance of getting an immortal creature from :aether pillars/pends to go along with a new skill.

thanks, ill chop off the theory of part next draft unless i hear otherwise
