Dynamic Duos:

Each player picks 1 main element and 5 secondary elements.  Each round your deck must comply with the following rules:

-The deck may only include cards from your main element and 1 secondary element that you choose for that round
-Deck must be at least 50% main element
-Deck must be at least 20% the secondary element you chose for this round
-Mark must be secondary element chosen for this round

Matches are round robin style best of 3.  If you lose a match, the secondary element you played with is eliminated from use by you.  A player is eliminated when all of their secondary elements are eliminated from use.  You can use your main element as one of your secondary elements, allowing you to build a completely mono deck.

Example with 2 players:
Player 1: Main element  :darkness  Secondary elements:  :entropy :fire :earth :life  :darkness
Player 2: Main element  :entropy Secondary elements:  :darkness :air :life :gravity :time

Round 1:  Player 1  :darkness :entropy defeats Player 2  :entropy :gravity
Player 2 can no longer play  :entropy :gravity decks and is limited in the next round to a duo using  :entropy and  :darkness :air :life or  :time.

Note:  If people were interested in this I would be willing to run it(probably on a smaller trial basis first) after war is over.  I might need some help though since I have never run any sort of event like this.

posted this in the tournament ideas thread but somebody suggested this was better posted here...

Elemental Shackles

At the start each match, Player 1 and Player 2 pick 3 Elements.

Player 1 can only play cards and choose mark from the 3 elements that Player 2 picked.
Player 2 can only play cards and choose mark from the 3 elements that Player 1 picked.

Shackles reset after each match.

The Draft
Players may sign up, or sign up as potential Captains.  I'd pick Captains based on applications.  Captains get to draft their teams from the player pool, ie
"in the first round red team picks [removed]".
Teams then take turns drafting cards, ie "in the first round blue team picks Graboid".
Once a card is drafted other teams can't use it to build their decks.  Drafting goes for 15ish rounds, remaining cards are freebies and can be used by anybody.Teams then face eachother in a round robin tournament (each team plays each other team in turn) using only cards they've drafted and freebies to build decks.
Those are just the coles notes but I've put a bit of thought into this and I'm quite certain it'd be a lot of fun.  I'd like to run the event, perhaps after the war or when I've got more free time.
Forbidden code is forbidden.

Just to give you heads up.. I will start collecting the best ideas from here and start a new dedicated forum section for each of them under "PvP Events". The person with the idea will then get a chance to further develop his/her idea based on community feedback, and ultimately organize the whole thing. Other option is to give the idea to PvP Organizers who will run the show.

Goal is to have about 12 different PvP events from which 3 will be active at all times. One event should last about 4-6 weeks. All event rules will use the same rule template that I will create as soon as I have time.

More information coming later.

Traitors!

Rules:
 - Each team has a maximum of 6 players, less is possible.
 - Defeated players become traitors (team traitor, if you like) but keep their current elements.
 - If a traitor loses, he is out of the event.
 - If a traitor wins, he joins the team his opponent was in an takes his element (and loses traitor status).
 - The team that is the last one in wins. (the original team, team traitor can't win)
 - If of all players left no one is in his original team, all players join their original team, taking their original elements (except those who are out, they stay out).

Sometimes you might have to battle someone of your original team and want to decide to lose on purpose, hurting the team you currently are in or supporting your team in another way.

Deckbuilding:
 - In the teams, each players chooses 2 elements he will use for deckbuilding (you will keep those elements for the rest of the event). Any two players may not have a common element in the same team.
 - Each of those elements must be at least 30% of the deck.

Pairings and rounds:
 - Pairings will be chosen randomly, you cannot battle someone who is currently in the same team. Traitor vs. traitor is possible.
 - Best of 3 wins
 - Each round will have to be battled within a week. If all battle are done sooner, the new round starts immediately.

I thought of more comprehensive rules for the Metamorphosis PvP Event.

And boy, it will require some epic strategy to fight your way through =D

Metamorphosis:

The object of the Metamorphosis PvP Event is to gradually morph your deck from mark to mark.
The first person to complete every mark is the winner of this event.

The deckbuilding rules are very restricting, so pay attention!

DECKBUILDING

Every deck will contain EXACTLY 6 different cards. You must choose what ratio of cards to use in your deck, as well as it's size. For example, a 30 card deck with 5/5/5/5/5/5. You must then choose a mark.

BATTLES

Match-ups will be randomly decided.
Battles will not have a set length. Instead, the goal of each matchup is to metamorphose your deck into a different mark.

When you win a duel, you may swap out 2 groups of cards from your deck for other cards.
For example, you have 3 lightnings and 4 immortals, which you swap for 3 fireflies and 4 rustlers.
You may also choose to add or remove a card from a single group in your deck, changing your deck size. Your mark remains the same. Cards that you swap out in this manner can not be used until for the rest of the round. (With this example, you cannot re-use the 3 lightnings until next round).

The players in a match-up continues to fight until one player has reached a point where their deck was completely different from what they started with this round.

That player is considered the winner of this round. They shall then switch marks and continue the race.

Keep in mind that although the fastest this can be achieved is through 3 wins, rounds may continue on for longer if one player so chooses, by switching out the same group of cards several times.

Next round, the winner use their new deck and mark to try and metamorphose once again. Losers start the round with the same deck they ended the last round with.

Keep track of every mark that you complete. When a Player has Metamorphosed past every mark, they are considered the winner of the event. (We can also have a second place, third place, etc.)

Tell me if there's anything you don't understand about the rules.
If you want to get the ball rolling, please recreate everything using the following topic as a template:

Using up to 6 upgraded cards, players build a deck of any size and a sideboard of 15 cards. Cards from the sideboard can be used between duels to alter your deck. This is a double-elimination tournament.
1. HOW TO SIGN UP?
Anyone with a forum and a chat account can sign up for this event. Start by reading the rules very carefully. Then sign up by posting on a separate sign up topic. If you cannot find a sign up topic, or if it is locked, this event is not currently active, and you will have to wait for it to restart.

Maximum amount of participants for this event is 32. If the event is full, you can still sign up as a reserve player, and will get a chance to join the event if any of the 32 players doesn't show up during round 1.
2. GETTING READY
Build a deck of any size (from 30 to 60 cards), and build a sideboard of exactly 15 cards.
- You may use any non-upgraded cards in the game.
- You may also use up to 6 upgraded cards. These upgraded cards can be in either your deck or your sideboard, or distributed between them both.
- The cards you choose to upgrade will stay upgraded during the whole event. You will not be able to change which cards are upgraded, nor can you downgrade them.
3. BRACKETS
This event is a double-elimination tournament and uses two kinds of brackets: winners brackets and losers brackets. Everyone starts out in the winners brackets. When you lose the first time, you will drop down to the losers bracket. When you lose the second time, you will be eliminated from the event. The final match will be between the winner of winners brackets, and the winner of losers brackets.

In short, if you lose two times, you are out. If you don't lose two times, you win.
4. DUELS
Players have 4 days to make the fight happen. They must contact their opponent using a PM, and try to find a time that suits both. If the fight doesn't happen, both players lose by default, unless one player is clearly more active in trying to find a suitable time. Event organizer will determine who the most active player was, and his or her word is final.

Matches are best-of-five. The first player who wins 3 individual duels, wins the match.

You are allowed to change your deck (and mark) by swapping cards between your deck and sideboard on a 1-for-1 basis at any time but you only have 3 minutes to do so. If it takes you longer than 3 minutes, it is considered a forfeit and the other player goes to next round.

It's a good idea to either record the matches, or take screenshots as proof, in case something weird, like a desync error, happens. Remember, a player who gets caught cheating, will be permanently banned from all Elements community PvP events, so please play fair.
5. AFTER DUELS
Winner should post a new topic in the "Battle Results" section, along with short description of how the match went. Both the winner and the loser are required to post pictures of both their decks and their sideboards. After round 1, all decks and sideboards from all players are 100% visible to everyone. This means that starting from round 2, you will know what cards your opponent has available, and you should plan your strategy accordingly.

Remember, decks and sideboards may be arranged however you please at any time, as long as your sideboard always contains the required 15 cards. If you start the event with 34 cards and a sideboard of 15 cards, your deck must always have that same 34 cards.
6. WINNER
Winner of the double-elimination tournament is the winner of the event.
7. REWARDS
The winner of the event will receive the following forum award icon:

Feel free to add and remove any titles and replace text when needed.

Oh, and you also need to pick a color from these:

#ff9999#ff99cc#ff99ff#cc99ff#9999ff#99ccff
#99ffff#99ffcc#99ff99#ccff99#ffff99
Once ready, I will post it in the dedicated section. Or if you want to run the whole thing yourself (instead of PvP Organizers running it), just let me know and I'll give you mod rights.

I'm a bit busy now but I'll take a look at the rules later.
