- Linkcat won his first WT trophy during the first tournament of the month, Elements the Chess - Unupgraded, which took place on May 2, using only one deck! He stated: "It felt great to win the first tournament I entered after not playing for a few years. I've always wanted a Mark of Life. I only built one deck, but one deck was all I needed. Thanks to RavingRabbid for losing to me Round 1, and to Kirby for the best match I've ever played." Enjoy your first WT win. We hope you are able to achieve many more wins.
- There is no doubt that on the 9th of May, EtG veteran mrpaper, won Birthday of Elements - Upgraded based on old meta. He admitted that he won by having an advantage over newbies as he owns a full set of upgraded cards, has knowledge of old meta, and because he cleverly used Gnome Riders/Earthquakes/Devourers "to make my opponents quanta miserable." He obviously knew how to play with rules which limit the amount of quanta. Congratulations!
- On the 16th of May, dawn to dusk, won The Elemental's Convention - Unupgraded, which was his first WT win. The Master of Life chose to forgo life cards, for alternatives. One might wonder if he was instead the master of either , , or , as he chose to specialize in those for this competition. (Hey, Master of Life, where are your fellow creatures, hmm?) He commented, "I felt kinda weird actually, I've gotten second before, 3rd a few times, and I've won life trials so I may not be as happy as others who have won their first tourney, but I am still incredibly happy that I did." He also added that he hopes that the WT win is a sign that he might keep his Master of Life title after Trials #9 concludes, which are currently ongoing! We wish you luck with both the Trials and more WT wins in the future!
- Due to too few participants on May 23rd to compete in Trials Hype - Unupgraded, it was postponed until the 30th, which gave the competitors an extra week to prepare.
Fortunately, there were 15 participants on the latter date, and the winner was current Master of Air, Afdarenty. He admitted that matches were intense. In addition, he said: "It was the most fun I've had in elements for a while. Tourneys that give everyone the option to choose their own element are great - it means you see a lot more deck variety, and gives you the chance to play with your favourite element. Air vs Air in the finals was awesome, too." Congratulations, and we hope that the trials-like tourney was sufficient preparation to help you defend your master title.

Tea Time with PhyssionBelow is the portion of an interview: Are there any other staff positions here you'd like to hold someday?
Sure! I was very close to applying for the Warmaster position for War #9, but I really want to participate in the event again this year. I'd definitely consider it for next War, though! If given the opportunity, I'd like to eventually apply for a seat on the Council.
Can you describe your excitement about the Darkness trial you're participating in?
I'm not sure if I can! The idea of possibly becoming the next Master of Darkness is incredibly exciting. Becoming the Master of an element has been an ultimate goal of mine since I joined the community, and it's almost overwhelming to think how close I am to achieving that dream. I'm gonna give it everything I've got, because it would make me proud beyond words to earn the Master title for my favourite Element.
What was your favorite moment in your Elements PVP career?

Freeze-dried tears by ggabriel2This deck review was written by DiscordHover over cards for details, click for permalink 5ij 5ij 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gn 7gn 7gn 7gr 7gr 7h0 7h0 7h0 7h3 7h3 7h3 7h8 7h8 7h8 7i6 7i6 7i6 7i6 7i6 7i6 7i6 8pp
Known as Freeze Dried tears, this deck has the strategy of hitting your opponent when they least expect it. In case of the problem of no nymphs, just use three extra nymph tears. Strategy goes as far as stalling your opponent by freezing their creatures, or using Dry Spell/Dessication for killing the creatures enough to get a nymph out, and the rest takes place from there.
Water Tower:7 :the only thing other than your mark that'll get you far enough to beating your opponent;
Dry Spell:2 :this is where the damage to low HP creatures comes in, such things like Deja Vu's and Vultures, etc will either be wekened or instantly killed off if not already buffed;
Congeal:3 : stalling creature damage is important if you want to survive long enough to get a nymph and some damage out on your opponent;
Arctic Octopus:2 : in case you run out of Congeal spells, this will help keep your opponent's creatures at bay, so use them wisely;
Nymph Tears: 3 : these will help get a nymph if you can't quite afford one already in your hand! In which turn can be used to make more nymphs, until you get a nymph army!
Dessication:3 : A stronger version of Dry Spell, this spell does two damage, (better than one isn't it?);
Water Nymph:3 : (in case you don't have nymphs, use Nymph Tears) these are vital to your system
Water Pendulums:7 : in case opponent has Earthquakes or Quicksands.
Deck weaknesses: it's obvious Lobo and steal are big things to avoid. When it comes to this deck, it's because if you can't produce nymphs from what you already have, there's no reason to this deck. If your opponent has either of the two, they can lobotomize your nymphs, no more nymph production, and they could steal your pillars, less pillars/pends means less quantum production, which means less chance of getting enough quantum to use your creature's abilities. Same goes with Devourers/Pests in this case.
Deck strengths: the cards such as Desiccation, and arctic squid can hold the creatures back while you get what you need out. Desiccation can kill low HP creatures, stalling your opponent even more while you get some more damage on them. The Congeal does just as much in the way of stalling creatures.
This deck is fun and easy to use, and provides good experience with the element while easily surprising and killing any opponent!
Alectryomancy, part of Frozen’s Divination series, is a card that can buff some of the more frail creatures in Life, like Rustler or Giant Frog, as well as accelerating a monolife rush. It works by allowing you to buff a creature for +2 | +2, and then allowing you to sacrifice a creature to draw cards. This sequence repeats itself at the beginning of every turn, regardless if you used the second ability or not.
Sacrificing a creature isn’t a problem with Life, as the combination of low cost creatures and Mitosis means a steady stream of Attack and HP boosts can be given, which in turn, can be used to strengthen the parent creature and prevent it from most forms of CC. Fractal is another card that can produce many creatures quickly, allowing lots of card draw to happen.
The buff can also be combined with cards like Deathstalker or Dune Scorpion, making a build up of poison damage while other Life cards like SoG keep you alive. Like Immolation | Cremation, this card can also remove some of the useless creatures on the field, like those hit by Antimatter or Basilisk Blood.
As you can see, the examples listed above are only some of the many synergies this card has, thus allowing countless new decks to be made.
Praise the glorious art.
