as far as starting decks.. it says i have 4 upgraded cards? which 4? or i have up to 4 to use and its my choice to which?

One major difference with Elements and WoE is that in WoE you cannot upgrade cards. Each player is given a personal "Vault" of non-upgraded cards, also known as Starter Deck. During deckbuilding, players have the option to temporarily upgrade  any of the cards they own. The number of upgraded cards they can use during a battle, depends on what skills they have and what battle stance the player and his or her opponent currently has. After a battle, all upgraded cards are returned to the Vault as non-upgraded.

You own 0 upgraded cards.

When you go into battle, you can temporarily upgrade any 4 cards you want.

After the battle, those upgraded cards return to non-upgraded.

i guess i need to specify.. the character sheets.. should not state i own 4 upgraded cards then.. the rules are not so misleading but the sheets themselves. and the empty slots for other 6 players say they have 3 upgraded..

For the trade action, is merchant selection limited by element yet, or are we waiting to implement that till later?

Also, the merchant currently lists some uncommons and rares as available to buy. Is that intended?

i imagine this would make a fun non-forum game.  people seem to like hex based conquer stuff type games (civ 5 / heroes of M+M anyone?)

I'm not sure what is unclear about this.

So, I can temporarily upgrade 4 cards for a battle. After the battle is finished, what I upped returns to my vault in the state they were before the battle. Do I still have the opportunity to use 4 upgraded cards in my next battle? That is, are the upgrades one use, or are they usable each battle? I understand that they're separate from the cards, but are they one use or reusable?

@Aves: The upgrades are not "used up". You can use them again next time, and pick another set of cards to apply them to.


On another note: How do we  types complete the capture a hex quest?

does movement happen before or after other actions? also, do you have to use the actions 'take quest' 'move' and 'capture' to complete the quest?

Does screwing the king take any action points? if so, I don't know if it's worth the effort.
