However maybe we should think of different names for the capitals like you did for death, I like the undead city idea and some others would also be good.
Yes, each capital city will have a unique name.

Here's one example:

Electrum is made using gold and silver. We could have a system when you need to have both a gold mine and a silver mine, and then convert: 1 gold + 1 silver = 2 electrum

Some resources could produce one extra card per turn.

Dimensional gates can be used to teleport from one side of the map to another.

In that case, I'm going to assume that 'Plains' is the most bland (and least 'elemental-based') out of the 4 main terrains you have, and thus have a much lesser chance of finding a special rare resource there, no?

If you do happen to have more than 4 resources, you should probably develop the terrains around the 'theme' of an element. Plains, River (or lake/stream/etc., it should be any form of water really), Mountains, and Forests are good alongside Desert, but I think Hills are too similar to mountains/not very 'elemental'-based and should be removed. (Who notices hills anyway? :P). The other terrains I thought about were:

-Swamp/Marshes
-"Blighted/Radiated Land"

Also, since a Dimensional Gate is a 'Wonder', I'm going to guess that's not a specific resource/terrain, and is probably something COMPLETELY unrelated to this topic.

"updrafts" upon these areas, you have the ability to reach the overworld.  (the land of air).  Their counterparts of dive points, which is how you get back down.  You may warp from updrafts to their corresponding dive points, but no where else.

"Warp gates" upon these areas, you may warp to the other dimension.  (the land of aether).  They have counterpart warp gates.

"Cave mouths".  Upon these areas, you may travel to the underworld (the land of darkness, death, and earth).  They have corresponding cave mouths down below.

 :gravity - 'Craters' should be here, as meteors are both huge objects that are defined by their mass and relation to gravity itself (making an impact on the world of elements). 'Craters' can also work for :aether too, because they're known to contain resources from beyond this realm...

:earth - Valley/Canyons are also good choices for the third one, and imply the idea of crevices within the earth that lead to caves - Valleys/Canyons could be used for the other elements

:air and/or :fire - You can probably add 'Geysers' (small springs noted for their explosive nature, releasing steam/heated water into the air)

Yes, I had Nile in mind when I put River with :time. It's basically Egypt.

Oasis will be the "special resource" of Desert terrain.

I love that Crater idea. It's fits perfectly to :gravity and we will use it for sure. It's not really a terrain though so I don't know what we are going to do about that. We could of course just use Plains and make Crater the special resource.

Valley/Canyons is a good idea, although I was planning on building those using Mountains and Plains or something. I'm no really sure how we can do Valley/Canyons visually speaking. I'll have to think about that.

Sure, we can have Geysers. But those would be special resources or something, not terrains.

Yes, I had Mountains with :earth at first, but then there seemed to be too many Mountains going around.

I just put in Forest and gave up. It needs others too.

I was thinking maybe :entropy because of all it's randomness, would have some kind of weird "random" terrain. I don't know..
