Just a name idea:  I think that the Other element capital city should be called Mercailles.  (Mercenary, for the element +Versailles, a city name)

It's already been named Outlaw City.

I thought someone else came up with it. It's a good name anyway and prefer it to Mercailles especially f all the others are going to be called ______ City.

And yes you take other territories and air will already have the air land I presume.

Yes, capturing territory is one of the major goals in this event. If a player enters a neutral area that has no other players in it, player claims that territory. Quantum icons will show who owns what land.

Assuming we are having a big map, would this work?

The pale-green is the neutral city, black is for capitals, and gray is for "Untouchable" territory.  I ignored resources for now.

I think that map is too big.

I suggested 28X20, which could then be divided into four smaller maps of 14x10. I chose 20 for height because it makes hexagon numbering (specifically reading those numbers) easier. 28 makes sense because it give the map the correct dimensions to fit nicely inside a browser window.

As for areas for different elements.. there has been a change of plans. Instead of giving big areas to each element when we start, we will now give only small areas, and players must capture that territory themselves.

I see you put some elements in the middle there. That's a HUGE disadvantage for those elements because they get attacked from all sides. I'd like to see a map where elements are kind of like in a circle, each element having 2 neighboring elements. The middle of the map would be 'Other' territory.

 :aether - universitas (latin: universe)
:air - ventosus (ftw every single one is latin : full of wind, windy)
 :darkness - acerbus (dark)
 :death - infirmus (feeble, sick)
 :earth - motus (earth quake)
 :entropy -
:fire - exuro (set on fire)
 :gravity - casus (downfall)
 :life - curatio (healing)
:light - miracula (a miracle play)
 :time - praeteritus (past)
:water - stillicidium (rainwater from the eaves)

Well my map is 28x23, so I'm not that far off.   ;)

I guess I could try to reduce it to 28x20, but now that teams start with smaller territories it makes it a lot easier to fit them all in on the outside.

Will post the new map here soon.

I made myself a map:

Lighter tiles are Neutral tiles
"Mud color" adjacent tiles are an element's starter tiles
"Stone color" adjacent tiles are an element's starter tiles.
There are two territories that are split into two peninsulas
There are even two tiles that are a "portal" to the other

There are things worse than eating tuna directly from the tin

Here's a map I made: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,9052.msg115151#msg115151

It's the "official" size of 10 x 16. A nice wide-screen that fits on browser window.
