As an added bit what about you could only use the mark of a capital you own as it adds more value to capitals and adds an extra aspect also means earth can't just shrieker rush and gives you a target not sure though as it can be obvious as to where you'll go and might require some elements to have more synergy, I just think capitals should have a good strategic point but not too OP.

Also I prefer SG's view of a map over Kael's as it makes things more interesting in my eyes, you could perhaps put disadvantaged people nearer to cards they have synergys with or stronger cards where as those with advantageous positions could be near pretty useless cards with which won't help in there decks.

Just throwing some ideas around.

1. I'd rather have a perfectly balanced map than a MMORPG-type map.
2. I'd rather have 1 big Map than a few layers, each with 2-4 elements on them.

So yeah, that's what I wanted to say.
I agree completely and wholeheartedly with these statements, although I doubt the second is possible.

SG, people don't like the idea of a non-symmetrical (Or even) map, because it means that one team will be given the advantage,  and because of that another team(s) must be at a disadvantage, or at least a comparative one. Trying to compensate for one disadvantage by giving an advantage cannot and never will be balanced, meaning one team will come out "On top" with advantages, and very likely have a much easier time beating the others.

I think there's something in mini's idea for capitals and marks though, why not have players be able to use the marks of their allied cities, and perhaps buy them in their respective capital cities for a substantial amount of whatever currency we use (Will it be electrum?).

Because trying to take over the Time capital with nothing other than a deck with both 50% Earth cards (?) and an Earth mark is a dismal prospect, although it can be done.
I ask nothing of humanity but fairness in all things, but I do not expect even that.

However, everybody is talking about teams having disadvantage, I thought the idea of this event was to make is player vs. player, where the different elements where you are, give the players advantage who fight with that element, of you have to fight with the mark of the area you are in.

That way, everyone can join and dropout if they wish, their will be always disadvantages, for people who join later.

If the case is for Free for all and free roaming without territory control, thats a whole different story. I was given the impression you chose a home team you were fighting for, ala the elements war and never the same team be at conflict.

For the map, why not something like this:

There can be three maps, of four elements each. Each of the four-element group forms square, so there are three squares. The three squares are then interlocked together to form a cube. This is inspired by something Kael Hate posted a long time ago: each of the three squares can rotate freely, therefore all elements can reach all other elements.

The three squares can be the following:

Cardinal: :time :aether :gravity :entropy - This square will resemble outer space.
Material: :fire :water :earth :air - This square will resemble the material world.
Spiritual: :light :darkness :life :death - This square will resemble heaven, hell, etc.
Anyone else give this a thought?

i have a suggestion if thats ok...maybe if it included lots and lots of mythology-elements the gaem has some, but instead of trying to think up our own there is generations of oral tradition too use that are both imaginative and un copyrighted ;) :P
