That's how I think it should be.
When I make decisions, I try to make them as realistic as possible. Sure this cool-down period might be fair in a way, but it also makes no sense. If I want to attack my ally, why cannot I do that? It has happened many times in human history and I see no reason why it couldn't happen in this event.

Maybe we could have something like 1 turn cool-down after declaring war? That would make more sense and give teams at least that one turn to prepare. Wouldn't do much good, but that's the risk you take when you decide to have allies.

Wait a sec. If say Implosion rules team Light, an Light is allied with Gravity. I, however, am stupid, and attack Jumbalumba. Can't Imp simply kick me out of the team or something? Because it would really spoil the event if people got randomly mad and attacked their allies with no consensus in the team to do so.

Yes, the King can kick out members that break the alliance. But he doesn't have to.

Players who are "fired" become outlaws ('other').

Max number of elements in an alliance is either 3, or total number of elements left in the game -1.

You are right. I think there should be a cool down period. Otherwise it might be a chaos.
